A violent gale erupted around Raiza. Mai's monster vanished, and her set card disappeared with it—forced to the very top of her draw.
"Now your field is empty."
"Battle—Raiza the Storm Monarch attacks directly!"

Kisaragi didn't even let the air settle.
"I set one card. Then I activate the Continuous Spell Dimensional Fissure from my hand."
"As long as this card remains on the field, any monster that would be sent to the Graveyard is banished instead."

Everyone watching instinctively inhaled.
"She's not just using Floowandereeze's banish mechanic to gain huge Life Points," Yugi murmured, "she's looping the banished birds back to her hand for a second wave… and most importantly—Mai's situation is basically back to square one, except she's down 2800 LP."
Téa stared. "Those birds… they're cute, but the power behind them is scary."
Kaiba, however, only smiled in silence.
"Mai Valentine," he muttered, voice low, "the moment you challenged her… you were already defeated."
Mai's Counterattack… Gets Smothered
Mai clenched her teeth and drew.
She's stronger than she looks. Watching her on TV didn't feel like this… Did she not even use her full strength against Weevil?
"My turn—draw!"
She glanced at the card she pulled: Mirror Wall.
Good. I still have a way to break this situation.
"I activate Reload!"
"I return any number of cards from my hand to the Deck, shuffle, then draw the same number!"
Mai tossed three cards back, shuffled, and drew three new ones.
"Changing her hand…" someone whispered.
Mai's eyes flashed.
"I activate the Spell Harpie's Feather Duster! I destroy all Spell/Trap cards you control!"
A storm of feathers surged across the field, rushing toward Kisaragi's backrow—
"I won't let you," Kisaragi cut in, flipping her set card.
"I activate the Counter Trap Magic Jammer!"
"I discard Floowandereeze & Eglen—your Harpie's Feather Duster is negated and destroyed!"
The feather storm dissolved mid-air.
"And because Dimensional Fissure is on my field, the discarded Eglen doesn't go to the Graveyard—it's banished."
"At this moment, Soul Absorption triggers—I gain 500 LP."
Kisaragi: LP 5500 → 6000
Yugi's eyes narrowed in realization. "So that's why she activated Dimensional Fissure—combined with effects that require discarding, she can keep converting discards into banishes… and endlessly recover LP."
Mai steadied herself.
LP 6000… fine. At least now I know her set card wasn't an attack-stopping trap.
