Chapter 15 - School

Noroi's POV

'Today is my first day in school,' I thought while I was dressing up. 'I can't wear the school uniform; my anatomy doesn't let me,' I thought, a little sad. 'I wish I could wear it like Tsumiki.'

As I finished dressing up, a knock interrupted my thoughts.

"Are you ready, Noroi?" Tsumiki asked on the other side of the door.

"Yeah," I said as I approached the door. My clothes were the usual hakama pants I wore and the haori I modified to have four sleeves.

I grabbed my backpack, and as I opened the door, I saw Tsumiki in her uniform. A smile appeared on my face as I looked at her kind expression.

"I'm still not used to wearing a uniform. The school I went to before let us go in everyday clothes," she said, adjusting her skirt.

"Well, in my opinion, you look beautiful in it," I said, looking at her.

A faint blush appeared on her face. "Thank you," she said with a smile.

"Tsumiki, let's go." Megumi approached from behind her, stared at me for a while, and grabbed his sister's arm to try and move her.

"Megumi?" she asked, confused, as her brother tried to guide her towards the entrance.

'Hm. It's strange. Why does he act like this when I am near Tsumiki? I have interacted with him these past two days, and he just seemed indifferent,' I thought in confusion.

"Well, let's go," I said as I left my room and started following them.

I called Kenji to come pick us up.

"Wait, Kenji will come pick us up now," I said as we left the building.

"Kenji?" Tsumiki looked at me, confused, and Megumi looked at me with the same confusion without saying a word.

As they looked at me, Kenji's car appeared in front of us.

"Good morning, Noroi-sama. I suppose these are your two new roommates," Kenji said from the car.

"Yeah, they are Tsumiki and Megumi. Could you drive us to school?" I asked him as I entered the car.

"Of course, Noroi-sama," he said with a smile.

Megumi and Tsumiki looked dumbfounded by the luxurious car. "You have a chauffeur?" Tsumiki asked, surprised.

"Well, Kenji was employed by Gojo, but he is now my chauffeur," I said while gesturing for them to enter.

"If you want, I can give you his number so you can go where you want," I said as I looked at the two siblings get in the car.

"Okay, thank you, Noroi," Tsumiki said, looking at me with a smile.

Megumi looked at us, huffed a little, and nodded.

Kenji started driving towards the school, and during the trip I started thinking about my classmates.

'Maybe I could have some friends, if they are like Megumi and Tsumiki,' I thought while looking at the window.

My mind wandered to the memories of the looks people gave me. 'It's okay, don't worry. They will be like Aoi, like Tsumiki,' I thought, reassuring myself.

Tsumiki noticed my silence and my expression and asked, "Are you okay, Noroi?" Her tone held a little worry.

"Yeah, don't worry," I said, turning to look at her.

"Okay," she said, a little hesitant, with worry in her eyes.

When Kenji stopped, I found myself looking at the huge building that was supposed to be the school.

My anxiety crept in, but I decided to get out of the car, grabbing my backpack and stepping out. The place was full of parents accompanying their children to the front gate of the school. Their gazes were drawn to the car we were in. As we stepped out, their expressions changed from curiosity to horror. They started whispering things to their sons and daughters, and some avoided even looking at me. The expressions of the kids changed from curiosity to fear as their parents whispered in their ears.

'They fear me… but why? Why do people fear me? I'm just a kid.' My expression turned sad as my mind wandered to the reason behind their fear.

As I was drowning in sad thoughts, a warm hand grabbed mine.

"Huh?" I said, surprised, looking at Tsumiki, who had just grabbed my hand.

"Let's go, Noroi," she said with a warm smile on her face.

I looked at her face for a while before turning my head, a bit flustered. "Yeah," I muttered softly.

Megumi looked at us strangely, but he didn't say a word.

As we started walking towards the school gates, kids and parents started to avoid us and look at us with the same looks I always received.

As soon as we entered, a teacher was waiting for us to signal our classroom.

"So, you are the new students," she said, looking at us sternly. When her gaze paused on me, a disgusted grimace appeared on her face. "Follow me," she said as she started guiding us towards our classrooms.

Tsumiki shot an annoyed look at the teacher before squeezing my hand a bit.

When we arrived at a classroom, she stopped.

"Megumi Fushiguro and Noroi, this is your classroom. Wait until the teacher signals you two to enter," she said in a stern tone.

"Now, Tsumiki Fushiguro, follow me," she said with no intention of wasting her time.

"Don't worry, Noroi. Be yourself," she said before letting go of my hand and starting to follow the teacher.

Megumi looked at her for a bit, then at me, and his lips curved slightly downward.

As we waited for a while, the teacher appeared, walking towards us.

He was a tall man with a beard and glasses who looked at us strangely. "You two are the new students, right?" he asked, looking at us from head to toe. When he inspected me, he grimaced and, with caution, instructed us.

"Come with me," he said, trying to avoid being close to me.

He opened the sliding door, and we followed him inside the classroom.

When we entered, multiple gasps of surprise tore across the classroom.

Turning to see the expressions of the kids, I noticed they looked at me with disgust and fear. Megumi frowned a bit and looked at me.

My expression turned sad as I looked at them, their emotions palpable in the room.

"Well, we have two new students. Please introduce yourselves," he said, looking at the class.

"My name is Megumi Fushiguro."

"My name is Noroi."

When Megumi introduced himself, their looks changed from fear to curiosity.

But when I introduced myself, the fear returned to their gazes.

"That's the child. Oka-san told me to stay away," a girl whispered to her friend.

"Noroi, his name really fits him," another boy muttered with disgust.

'They all hate me.' My mind started swirling with negative thoughts as my gaze lowered to the ground.

The teacher decided to seat Megumi with another boy, but when he looked at me, he decided I would be sitting alone while all the other kids had someone to sit with.

'Why?' I thought while sitting down. 'Why do they hate me?' I thought as the teacher started the class.

Geto's POV

'Damn Tsukumo. She isn't in Jujutsu High; she isn't in headquarters. I can't locate her,' I thought bitterly.

'And now they assigned me a mission where there is suspicion of two curses in a village. Damn it,' I thought with frustration as I entered the train that was going to the village.

'And I won't arrive till noon.' My frustration grew as I wanted to investigate what Tsukumo told me about.

My mind wandered with thoughts as the train departed.

Noroi's POV

As we left class, my mind wandered in negative thoughts as I didn't pay attention to the lesson.

Kids avoided being too close to me while whispering.

"Ignore them," Megumi said as he approached me. "Let's go," he said with a serious face.

I looked at him briefly before following him outside.

As we left the classroom and started strolling through the halls, we found Tsumiki waiting for us.

"How did it go?" she asked with a smile.

"Fine," I said shortly. Megumi looked at me briefly before nodding.

"Okay," she said, noticing my expression.

As we left through the gates, Kenji was already waiting for us in front of the school.

We entered the car. Kenji said hello and started driving.

"Noroi, are you okay? Did something happen?" Tsumiki asked worriedly.

"No, it's okay," I said while looking at the sunset.

"If something happens, tell me, please," she said, worried.

"Okay," I muttered while thinking about today's events.

'I don't want to worry Tsumiki,' I thought, thinking about her smile.

Geto's POV

"These are the curses. We captured them a few days ago," the chief said with satisfaction.

As I looked at the cage, two little girls were shivering, embracing each other, with noticeable scars on their faces.

"What made you think they are curses?" I said, my eyes widening as I looked at the kids.

"They began doing some sorcery, and we knew they were the curses that bring misfortune to our village," the chief said, disgusted, looking at the two kids. "We were going to execute them tomorrow."

The kids grimaced. They were scared, afraid of the men who wanted to kill them.

I looked at the chief in disbelief. 'They think these two innocent kids are curses only because they did sorcery, something that protects them from true curses,' I thought in disbelief. 'It's the same with Noroi. They would execute him if they could.' Thinking about the kid I cherished as a little brother and how they looked at him, I noticed how ungrateful non-sorcerers really are.

'These monkeys are the real curses,' I thought with anger, my cursed energy starting to leak.

Remembering the conversation with Tsukumo, I made a decision.

Multiple curses started to appear from my shadow.

"You filthy monkeys," I said with hate.

"I will eliminate every one of you," the chief looked startled as I said that.

"I will remove the curses from this world."
