Chapter 7 - Chapter 06

Jungkook~

It's been two days—two very long, very gloomy days—since Y/N lost her diary. The energy around her has been off ever since. She cried, moped around like a kicked puppy, and even had a mild anxiety attack over it. Thank god I knew how to handle her during those moments, but seeing her so down? I hate it. I really hate it.

For god's sake, where is that damn diary?

I rub my temples and sigh as I watch her staring blankly into the fireplace in our common room. I know it's not really about the diary itself but what's written inside. If anyone dared to read it and share her secrets, I swear I'd burn this entire castle to the ground without hesitation.

"Hey, c'mon. Let's eat something," I nudge her arm gently, breaking the silence.

She's about to protest, opening her mouth to argue, but her stomach betrays her with a loud, undeniable growl. I can't help the laugh that bursts out of me, only to earn a smack on my thigh and one of her signature whines. Her pout is so adorable I almost want to squish her cheeks. Honestly, for someone a year older than me, she's still so easy to baby.

"Let's go, Minx," I grin, grabbing her hand and pulling her to her feet.

We walk to the dining hall hand in hand, as we always do. Eyes trail after us the whole way, whispers following like shadows. It's nothing new. People love to gossip, always assuming the wrong thing. Whatever. Y/N and I don't care. As long as we understand each other, that's all that matters.

We settle down at the long dining table, grabbing plates of food. The silence between us feels heavy, and I hate it. My Minx is always chattering about something—making jokes, dragging me into her chaos, or singing off-tune to annoy me. Seeing her so quiet and picking at her food like this makes me want to punch something.

"Hey, guys!"

I feel a hand slap my shoulder, nearly making me choke on a piece of chicken. I grunt and swallow my food, glaring up to see Jimin and Taehyung sliding into the seats beside us.

"Why so down? What's this dark atmosphere?" Jimin asks with a grin, completely ignoring the heavy tension.

I glance at Y/N to see her still aimlessly playing with her food before sighing and answering for her. "We still haven't found her diary."

Jimin and Taehyung exchange a look, their mouths forming perfect 'O's as they nod in unison like it's the most serious revelation they've ever heard. I roll my eyes.

"Here," I mutter, reaching over to take Y/N's spoon and scoop up some food. "Eat, Minx, before you start floating away like a ghost."

Before I can feed her, Jimin speaks up, stealing everyone's attention. "What if I know where your diary is?"

Y/N's head snaps up instantly, hope flashing across her face. But just as quickly, it dims into suspicion. "You don't even know what it looks like."

Taehyung snorts, and I bite back a laugh, earning a glare from Jimin.

"Okay, fine, let me rephrase that," Jimin continues, undeterred. "If I help you find your diary, what do I get in return?"

"Jimin," I warn immediately, shooting him a death glare. But of course, he ignores me, leaning closer with that cocky smirk of his.

"C'mon, let Y/N decide that. I'm sure she has ways to be grateful," Jimin says, winking dramatically.

Y/N stares at him, unimpressed, her expression deadpan. "And why would I do that?"

"Because I'll find your diary in no time," Jimin boasts, puffing out his chest like he's Merlin reborn. "I'm practically the greatest wizard alive."

Y/N's face says it all—she's done. Completely done. "Nice try, blondie, but not interested."

With that, she stands up, leaving the table and a very stunned Jimin sitting there with his mouth hanging open.

The silence is quickly broken by Taehyung and me bursting into laughter. Jimin's the biggest flirt in Hogwarts, and this is the first time I've ever seen someone be so immune to his so-called "charms."

"What a menace," Jimin mumbles, pushing his hair back with a huff.

"She is my menace," I say firmly, standing up and ruffling his hair just to annoy him further. "And stay at least five feet away from her, hyung. I'm serious."

"Possessive much?" Jimin scoffs, but I just roll my eyes and turn to leave.

Taehyung leans back in his seat, clearly enjoying the chaos. "You're doomed, Jimin. She doesn't fall for your tricks."

I smirk as I walk away, catching up to Y/N as she storms out of the hall. "Did you see his face when you shut him down?" I ask, bumping her shoulder playfully.

She finally cracks a smile, the first real one in days. "He's lucky I didn't hex him on the spot."

"That's my Minx," I say proudly, slinging an arm around her shoulders.

We'll find her diary soon. I'll make sure of it. But for now, seeing that spark in her eyes again is enough to remind me why I'll always have her back. Always.
