Chapter 44 - “The Wedding Day

Anna stood in her bridal suite, the soft ivory gown flowing around her. Every detail had been carefully chosen: the lace, the delicate embroidery, the veil that caught the sunlight like spun silver.

Emily and Sophia fussed around her, helping with the final touches.

"You're going to make Oliver cry," Emily whispered excitedly.

Anna laughed nervously. "Please don't encourage him."

Sophia winked. "Oh, he's crying one way or another. Be ready."

Meanwhile, Oliver adjusted his suit, checking every detail meticulously. But even as he ensured everything was perfect, his mind was with Anna. She's everything I've ever wanted. And today… she'll be mine, officially.

His best man clapped him on the shoulder. "Ready?"

Oliver took a deep breath. "More than ever."

The wedding hall was a dream. Soft white roses lined the aisle, candlelight flickered gently, and the gentle hum of a string quartet filled the space. Guests took their seats, their chatter fading as the music began.

Anna took a deep breath, clutching her bouquet. The doors opened. She walked down the aisle slowly, every step measured, every heartbeat loud in her chest.

Oliver stood at the altar, his gaze locked on hers. Time seemed to stand still.

As she reached him, he extended his hand. "Anna," he whispered, "I promise to love you, through every challenge, every joy, and every quiet moment in between."

Anna's eyes glistened. "And I promise the same. Always you. Always us."

The officiant guided them through the vows, but for Anna and Oliver, it was more than words. It was ten years of waiting, growing, and dreaming finally converging into one perfect moment.

When it came time for the rings, Oliver held Anna's hand tenderly. "With this ring, I give you my heart, my soul, and every tomorrow."

Anna placed the ring on his finger, her voice trembling with happiness. "And I give you mine."

Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for.

"You may kiss your bride," the officiant said.

Oliver leaned in slowly, their eyes locked. Time seemed to vanish as their lips met in a soft, lingering kiss — tender yet passionate, playful yet filled with deep emotion. Gasps and applause erupted around them, but Anna and Oliver felt nothing but each other.

When they finally pulled back, Oliver rested his forehead against hers. "Finally," he whispered.

"Finally," she echoed, her smile radiant.

The reception that followed was full of laughter, dancing, and joy. But Anna and Oliver often slipped away to steal quiet moments together — a gentle touch on the hand, a whispered joke, a shared look across the room that said everything without words.

Under the glow of fairy lights, Anna realized something: no matter the rivalries, the past misunderstandings, or the years apart, today proved one thing.

Love that waits, that survives, that grows stronger over time… is unstoppable.

And theirs was just beginning. 💙✨
