The Watcher Station. Main control room.

Light exploded. Receded.

A half-meter alien landed on the console. Grey skin. Massive head. Bulbous eyes processing information at speeds that made supercomputers look like abacuses.

Grey Matter.

"Manual physical lock — software firewall bypassed."

Jake's voice was high-pitched, speech impossibly fast. The Galvan brain had taken over.

BANG! BANG!

Two Kree soldiers burst through the door. Rifles up.

Gwen dropped from the ceiling — one kick, one web-sealed helmet. "Handled!"

"Hold them off. Thirty seconds."

Grey Matter pulled a data cable from the console and plugged it into the Omnitrix's physical interface.

ZZZT!

Hundreds of windows erupted on the holographic screen. Crimson virus code cascading like a waterfall.

Ten tiny fingers hit the virtual keyboard.

Afterimages.

The typing was so fast the console's edge threw sparks.

"Inferior brute-force algorithms. Crude gene-fragment truncation." Grey Matter read the virus code with undisguised contempt. "High Evolutionary? A biological butcher who knows a few basics. Playing with code in Azmuth's domain is suicide."

Tap. Enter. Overwrite.

[Clearing external garbled code.]

[Reconstructing DNA isolation zone.]

[Extracting virus logic... decompilation — successful.]

Fifteen seconds.

The red-and-yellow chaos on the Omnitrix dial stopped. Deep green runes resumed their steady flow.

[Virus — cleared.]

[Master Control — online.]

"System restored."

Grey Matter unplugged the cable. Didn't stop typing.

"Only polite to return the favor."

He accessed the Moon base's deep-space transmitter array. Dragged a segment of rewritten green code — the High Evolutionary's own virus, decompiled and weaponized — into the broadcast queue.

"Directional transmission. Target: all enemy warships in lunar orbit."

Enter.

Lunar orbit. The allied fleet.

Three thousand warships in bombardment formation. The Kree commander watched the flickering shield on the lunar surface and sneered.

"The virus is working. No retaliation from the base. Charge main cannons — final strike. Blast through completely."

"Commander!" The radar officer's voice cracked. "Anomalous signal from the Moon base — it's penetrated our physical firewall!"

"Intercept—"

"FAILED! It's in the fleet mainbrain!"

BZZZ—!

Every light in the command center died.

Every holographic screen — every control panel — every soldier's combat visor — lit up with a single image.

A green hourglass. The Omnitrix emblem. Grinning at them from their own systems.

"WHAT IS HAPPENING?!" The Skrull commander screamed.

"Main engines — stalled!"

"Weapons — locked!"

"Life support disconnecting! Backup power being formatted by unknown program!"

Five seconds.

Three thousand Star Destroyers — vessels that had conquered civilizations across the galaxy — became dead metal coffins drifting in lunar orbit.

Without power, without thrust, the Moon's gravity began pulling them into each other. Chain collisions. Silent explosions blooming in the vacuum.

The Watcher Station.

"Fleet paralyzed. Counter-hack successful."

Grey Matter jumped off the console.

Whoosh!

Black-and-white liquid metal surged upward.

Upgrade.

The liquid didn't take human form. It lunged at the base's Core Energy Pillar — the central power system of the entire Watcher Station — and merged.

Green circuit patterns spread through the pillar. Through the walls. Through the floor. Through the entire base.

CLANG-CLANG-CLANG!

The Watcher Station — hundreds of square kilometers of Galvan-designed metal fortress — came alive. External armor plates flipped. Hidden planetary-grade railguns rose from underground bunkers — dozens of them, muzzles aimed at space.

"System upgrade — complete."

Jake's mechanical voice echoed through every corridor.

"My turn."

BOOM—!!!

Dozens of Upgrade-enhanced plasma beams tore through the lunar night. Green light lanced across the void with surgical precision, piercing the paralyzed warships one by one.

The Kree-Skrull fleet — five thousand strong — popped like bubbles. Star Destroyers detonated in chains. The silent vacuum filled with expanding spheres of fire and debris.

Two minutes of sustained fire.

Fewer than a hundred damaged hulls remained drifting when the railguns went quiet.

The Kree commander — half his bridge blown away, death-gripping a broken steel bar as vacuum pulled at his body — stared at the purgatory that had been his fleet.

Incomprehensible. Unacceptable. Undeniable.

Control room.

Liquid metal peeled from the energy pillar and reformed into Jake. Human. Pale. The mental toll of controlling an entire base's weapons systems through direct neural interface was immense.

But the result was perfect.

Gwen handed him water.

"All destroyed?"

"Left one flagship." Jake drank. Looked at deep space with cold eyes. "The High Evolutionary declared war on me. This doesn't end with defense."

He threw the empty bottle in the trash. Walked toward the teleportation pod.

"Assemble the Plumbers' First Expeditionary Force."

"Target: Counter-Earth."
