Chapter 32 - Weird Dogs.

Kaelen remained silent and watchful for a few seconds staring into the distance.

A shaking tree was not odd, but a shaking tree within his soul sea that no one other than himself was supposed to be in was definitely odd.

Dangerous too.

He began to walk towards the disturbance trying to conceal himself as much as possible and where he was, at the top of the hill in a clearing with a single tree was asking whatever it was to notice him.

Sure, he had his memories right there that he could call down to aid in his fight but was there anything he could do against a soul invading enemy ?

'...Its not someone like Mordret...'

He thought, that particular bastard should be locked up in the Night temple.

'Well... that was if he was had his powers right now...'

Kaelen honestly did not know since he had no reference time to determine his current time stamp.

For all he knew Mordret was still under twelve and had yet to enter his First Nightmare

'So what the hell is making a mess in my soul sea...?'

A hundred thoughts started to pool in his mind as he attempted to make sense of the situation.

Was this an effect of having been exposed to the corruption?

Was his mind state affecting his soul sea ? He had yet to fully recover from the effect of his flaw but he felt that was not quite it

Summoning a single manifestation despite now being able to use two, he wrapped it around himself and instead of using it for the strength boost he changed its form into air

He could not fly just yet even though he knew it was just a matter of manipulating his body in this form, so he 'walked' forwards through the trees

When he got to a particular out cropping of them he stared in utter disbelief.

There were two 'Dogs'

Note that dogs was a bit of an underplay since one had enough muscle that it could put a bison to shame, its height was tall too but the most curious thing was that

It seemed to be transparent.

'A ghost...? What the hell is a ghost doing in my soul sea...?'

As he gazed at the creature with confusion the one besides it seemed to pick up on him

It was black, two tails and six legs, not to mention the rows of needle sharp teeth, forked tongue and three eyes

'Pure abomination...'

He thought

That was the reward for his aspect legacy's first step being completed, It also was apparently the first life form aside from the First Breath, the original First Breath

'Is it fighting...!?'

Immediately a thought formed, could it have been that the Devil had some ability to invade the soul of the one that slew it?

And now the pure abomination was facing it...!

'But then...'

Why the hell were neither of them injured. And why was the Hollow Hound not attacking him and why was it...

'Bowing...?'

Remaining in the form of air he started to walk closer slowly step by step making sure to not make any sudden movements.

The Hound continued to remain stationary and in the bowed position

Kaelen had an odd thought as to what was happening and was not completely sure but also, he was pretty sure.

"My Nascent Domain...?"

He said reaching out to the creature he dismissed the manifestation and became flesh and bone once more.

As he touched the creatures head the Spell spoke suddenly.

[Unassigned sprite: Hollow Hound]

'Unassigned...sprite?'

Kaelen stood there confused.

Then he stood there some more.

It was clear that this had something to do with his Domain when he eventually became a supreme, but what exactly was this...

The hound in question remained in the bowed position, completely still.

"If you're unassigned then how to I assign you... and what exactly do I assign you too...?'

He could not think of an answer.

The word 'Sprite' sent him back to his Aspect within his first nightmare, it was just that while he was a 'Void Sprite' this one was referred to as a 'Unassigned Sprite'

He turned his gaze towards the pure abomination.

"Any explanations...?"

The 'dog' looked at him and tilted its head as if not understanding, then it walked towards him and started to nuzzle itself against him, bending its head down to do so

He chuckled and patted the Pure Abomination on hits head.

'For such a horrifying creature... you're pretty cute.'

He said continuing to pat it

Then there was a sudden realization

'And you're... bigger...'

The Pure Abomination was larger than when he had seen when it was with him in the trial, twice as large at best.

"Ah you became a monster along with me!"

He started to pat the creature more and looking at the Hollow Hound who was looking at him, began to pat it as well

"Okay I'm going to go now." He said leaving his soul sea and coming back to on his bed.

When he opened his eyes however the Pure Abomination was staring right at his face causing him to roll back and fall of his bed.

'Ow...' He said wincing as he rubbed his head that got hit against the wall

The Beast stepped over the bed and looked at him worriedly nuzzling its head on his.

Kaelen initially thought it was a gesture of worry or companionship, that was before a white mist like substance seeped from the creature onto him

'What the...'

Kaelen looked at the Monster intently

There was the connection created between them since the Pure Abomination was technically his 'Pet' but there appeared to be a second connection too.

Their abilities.

"You can use my Aspect...?"

The creature tilted his head and looked at him confused.

Kaelen sighed and raised his hands.

"Since we're monsters now I should be able to use two at a time."

He said bringing up two elemental manifestations each one going to a different hand, then he made one take the form of earth and another of fire.

Understanding his intent the creature did the same

'Nice...!' He smiled

It appeared that the Pure Abomination was basically a dog clone of his.

Then however, the fire from the massive dogs paw spread onto the blanket.
