The blanket lay burned on the wooden floor and a few meters away a giant dog lay asleep. Kaelen was laying on said giant dog using the beasts two tails as a blanket.
Slowly, he stirred and woke up.
With a yawn he rubbed his eyes looked around the room noting the fact that the blanket still lay burned
'...I need to remember that I have powers now...'
He felt stupid
Yesterday when the Pure Abomination took on the element of fire, its leg was a tad too close to the blanket causing it to burn. In that panic Kaelen grabbed it and started to step on it trying to put the fire out.
Then after it was done he stood there for a moment and remembered
He could manifest water to put out the flames.
With a sigh he walked towards the blanket and picked it up throwing it into a corner. When it hit the ground, the hardened black bits made a sound with caused the beast to wake up too.
"Morning pup..." He said
The pup in question woke up slowly and walked over and started to rub its head against his sadly
"Aw... I told you its okay." He patted it
Poor thing had a panic attack when it saw him stressing about the blanket.
As he stood patting its head he heard the door to his room creak open and came face to face with the man Leon.
For a moment there was no movement amongst the three of them.
Then before Kaelen could even follow the young Awakened already had a blade flying at the beast besides him.
The beast in question shifted forms and ignited itself in flame
It moved forwards with a burst of fire charring the brown wood below its feet
Perhaps taken aback by the fact that the beast had an ability he paused and shifted a step back , the motion was swift and without a doubt was carried out with the use of essence
The beast however did not care and continued to charge forwards
Before the two could clash however Kaelen grabbed the beasts tail, the one he could reach first causing it to turn and snap at him.
When it did the flame died out and it started to inspect him as if it caused him injury. While its was doing that Kaelen smiled
"How about you go to rest for a bit?"
He instructed.
It stayed out for a bit after insuring that he was not hurt and then, it just disappeared.
Then he turned to Leon.
He had a kind smile on his face but Leon could sense the little bit of annoyance in him as his pupils were narrowed as if looking at prey.
It looked threatening aside from the fact that using essence Leon could most likely kill him easily.
"Good morning Awakened Leon, may I ask why you just barged into my room....?"
The Awakened seemed slightly stunned
"That... Nightmare Creature...Wha..."
He sounded like a fool but he held that sword like an experienced warrior.
"Aspect Legacy relic." Kaelen said
There was not that much demerit in revealing that much, sure it was rare for a sleeper to have already unlocked his Aspect Legacy - in fact he was pretty sure he was the only one.
"You already have your aspect legacy...?"
Kaelen sighed
"My first nightmare was rather... interesting." He said
The Awakened, remembering Kaelen not wanting to speak about it pushed no further.
"Well, my apologies..."
He started
"I wanted to give you a tour of the compound since you didn't get one yesterday."
Kaelen smiled
"Thanks but... I already decided I don't want to go to any of the classes." He said
"What?, why?" The man looked at him with a mixture of confusion and surprise
Kaelen sighed and walked over to the bed.
"Including today, there is only five days till the winter solstice. How much can one learn in five days?"
He shook his head.
"Honestly I'm glad you came because I wanted to ask you for something."
Leon dismissed his sword and asked him
"What is it?"
"The academy is large. There are many buildings. I wanted to know if there is a free room that I can use to train and get to know my... pet better."
Leon looked at him intently and then closed his eyes as if thinking.
"Hmm, there are a few compounds left unused. I don't think anyone would make an issue since your time here is ... limited."
Kaelen shot up.
"Can you take me to it?"
Leon turned and walked while making a calling motion with his hand signaling to follow
"Sure, but I want to show you a few other places as well."
Kaelen followed.

As they walked through the Academy Kaelen's eyes washed over various things and locations that he remembered reading about.
All the classes were currently empty since it was rather early but he could still tell what each thing was.
The first one they passed was the combat class which had foam mats placed down and weapons on the walls, wooden for training purposes.
He had thought about it last night but decided that going to train with others but he felt that there was not much he was going to learn from five days of training.
If he trained on his own then the chances of him getting a better connection with his powers were high, that way if he is dropped in front of a creature his first instinct would be turning to air in order to avoid the attack rather than try to run away
The next room was about Runic Sorcery.
That one seemed neater and more orderly with a few objects for practice
He recalled the memory of Noctis saying how long it would take to learn that skill, maybe he would learn it in the future but not now, it was a waste of time.
Something else that made him loose interest in Runic Sorcery was the fact that he felt he would have a natural talent for Shaping, perhaps he would not learn all the true names but he was literally the Worlds Soul.
He knew there was a true name for Fire and he could use fire so there was a chance of that, he knew there was one for Wind too which would compliment his air ability. But for now he did not want to focus on that either
Same with the Wilderness Survival class since he already knew about all that stuff from his mother and that his Innate Ability was a cheat
None of the classes were invaluable, it was just with such a short time there was not enough time to learn enough that could be valuable.
Then, they came to the empty rooms.
"Here is where you can train."
Leon told him.
Kaelen smiled looking at the nearly empty room, there were a few things in there including a strength testing machine, a bunch of old poorly carved wooden weapons.
"Thanks." He said walking forwards
As he did the Pure Abomination manifested and walked alongside him.
The beast turned and looked at Leon with a snarly before turning forwards
"Well, you saw the lunch hall. You can go get food whenever you feel like it." He said
Kaelen was already focused on something else.
The intricate connection between the Pure Abomination and himself as well as the range of his abilities
Five days to understand all their abilities.
