The God of Death's words hung in the air like a challenge.
What do you mean? I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
The God of Death smiled, his glowing eyes gleaming with amusement.
You are not like the others, he said. You are not from this world.
I felt a jolt of shock run through me. What do you mean? I asked again.
The God of Death chuckled again. You are from a different dimension, he said. A world beyond this one.
I stumbled backward, my mind reeling. That's impossible, I said.
The God of Death shook his head. Nothing is impossible, he said. Especially not for a god.
He raised his hand, and I felt a surge of energy run through me. Suddenly, I was flooded with visions of my past life. My childhood, my parents, my friends. Everything.
But something was off. Something was...different.
