Chapter 1 - Crime?

Location: Unknown

In a grand room that looked as if it had been carved for divine beings, several figures stood with an overwhelming presence that would suffocate any ordinary human.

They were all men dressed in clothes that screamed of wealth and power. Their looks were so striking it would put even the finest model on earth to shame.

And at the moment, they all had hateful gazes fixed on a central figure who lay sprawled on the floor, wearing an entirely unbothered smile.

The tension in the room was so thick you could touch it.

"You hateful bastard!"

One of the men voiced in anger, his eyes red and bulging.

"At least look even a little bit guilty for the crime you have committed."

If looks could kill, the the man on the floor would have been on his ninety-sixth life already.

Hearing himself finally being addressed, the man lazily lifted his head, wearing a confused expression.

"Crime? I have no idea what you might be referring to, my dear friend Veythros."

"Shut up you lying bastard before I kill you right here and now. Don't you ever call me your friend again. You knew she was my only daughter, but you just couldn't help yourself could you?"

At this point, Veythros was trembling so much that the other men had to hold him back before he did something he might regret later.

Not that they cared about the man on the floor, the scum could get hit by a star for all they cared. But there was a way they did things here, and the rules had to be followed.

"Ohh," The man on the floor muttered staring straight into the eyes of Veythros. It was clear he had zero good intentions from the smile playing along his lips "You where talking about your daughter?"

"..."

"Veythros! Calm down, he is just trying to rile you up," someone said from behind.

"Malreth is right Veythros. Let's just wrap him up and head to the palace, you will have your revenge there."

Hearing the advice from his friends, Veythros finally calmed down and nodded at them.

"Alright, let's tie him up."

But before anyone could move, the man on the floor who had been patiently watching them with an amused smile opened his mouth to speak again.

Its almost as if he had been waiting for the others to clam Veythros down before speaking again.

"What was her name again…?"

Everyone stopped dead in their tracks.

"Ahh, I think it was Freya? No, I think it had an 'S' in it... Is..."

"..."

Most of the other men stared at him as though he had a death wish.

And even if he did, wasn't this the worst way to get it?

But he completely ignored them and continued his act of struggling to remember a name. Meanwhile by this point Veythros was raging so hard the surroundings began to tremble.

"It's just at the tip of my tongue now, Isi..."

"Don't you dare," Veythros managed to say through his trembling body.

"DON'T YOU DARE SAY HER NAME."

And right after the outburst, a light seemed to appear in the eyes of the man still posing on the floor.

He looked Veythros dead in the eyes, smiled and said, "Ahh, I remember now. Her name was Isis... It is a fine name, I will give you that."

Silence

.

.

.

"DIE YOU WORTHLESS BASTARD!"

Everything slowed down as Veythros's blue hair flared to life, and he vanished from the spot he stood.

In the blink of an eye, he appeared directly in front of the man he hated more than anything in the universe right now.

And the man in question remained calmly on the floor in his casual pose, completely unbothered about the sky shattering punch aimed straight for his face.

When the distance between the fist and his face was just a few inches away, he finally reacted.

With a heavy sigh, he casually raised a hand and caught the strike with little to no effort, creating a deadlock.

If Veythros hadn't been consumed by blind rage, he might have realized that something was wrong.

There was no possible way anyone could hold their ground against a person five levels above them.

The other spectators all had eyes opened in awe and horror, but before they could react or step in to stop the confrontation before things got out of hand, something even more horrifying followed.

Furious that his attack was blocked, Veythros channeled even more power into his strike, causing his fist to glow violently. In response, the man's hand glowed too, absorbing the energy through their connection.

Suddenly a complex glowing geometric circle flared to life on the floor directly under them.

The man finally sat up from the floor, leaning in close to whisper.

"See? You always were a good friend, helping me escape and all."

Veythros barely had time to register the statement he just heard as the geometric circle flashed a blinding light.

And the next thing that happened not only left everyone shocked, but also trembling in realization.

The man on the floor vanished into thin air, leaving the room in absolute chaos.

"Did... Did he just..."

"Yeah. I think he did."

"..."

"We are so screwed."
