Early Life and Family Background

Aisha (RA) was born in Makkah around 613–614 CE. She was the daughter of Abu Bakr (RA), the closest companion of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the first Caliph of Islam. Her mother was Umm Ruman (RA), a righteous and noble woman.

Aisha (RA) grew up in a house filled with faith and strong belief in Islam. Her father, Abu Bakr (RA), was among the first people to accept Islam. From her childhood, she witnessed the struggles Muslims faced in Makkah. This environment shaped her character and strengthened her faith.

Marriage to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Aisha (RA) was married to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Makkah, and she later moved to Madinah after the Hijrah (migration). She became one of the Prophet's closest companions in his personal life. The Prophet (PBUH) loved her dearly, and she held a special place in his heart.

Their relationship was built on love, respect, and knowledge. Aisha (RA) was intelligent, curious, and eager to learn. She would ask many questions to understand Islam deeply. Because of this, she gained vast knowledge directly from the Prophet (PBUH).

Her Knowledge and Contribution to Islam

Aisha (RA) is considered one of the greatest female scholars in Islamic history. She narrated more than 2,000 hadiths (sayings and actions of the Prophet). Many companions of the Prophet (PBUH) and later scholars would come to her to learn about Islamic rulings, family matters, and the Sunnah.

Her sharp memory and deep understanding made her an authority in:

Poetry

The Incident of Ifk (The Slander)

One of the most difficult times in her life was the incident of Ifk (false accusation). During a journey, some hypocrites spread a false rumor about her. This caused great pain to Aisha (RA), her family, and the Prophet (PBUH).

She remained patient and trusted Allah. Eventually, verses of the Qur'an were revealed declaring her innocence (Surah An-Nur, verses 11–20). This event showed her strength, patience, and unwavering faith in Allah.

Her Role After the Prophet's Death

After the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) passed away in 632 CE, Aisha (RA) lived for nearly 44 more years. During this time, she dedicated her life to teaching Islam.

She also witnessed major political events during the caliphates of her father Abu Bakr (RA), Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA), Uthman ibn Affan (RA), and Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA).

She was involved in the historical event known as the Battle of the Camel during the caliphate of Ali (RA). Later, she withdrew from political involvement and continued focusing on teaching and worship.
