"Splen... splendid! Simply magnificent!"
"Contestant Tien Shinhan advances to the Top Four with overwhelming strength!"
The announcer wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, doing his best to keep his voice steady.
The previous battle—filled with the sound of tearing metal—had left the arena in a tense, heavy silence.
"Next, let's change the pace!"
"The second Quarter-Final match! The runner-up of the previous tournament, the highly popular Goku, versus…"
"Uh… a mysterious beautiful girl contestant who didn't leave her name!"
In the waiting area, Goku was stuffing the last bite of roasted meat into his mouth, cheeks puffed out like a hamster.
Hearing his name, he mumbled through the food.
"Oh! My turn already?"
He wiped the grease from his hands onto his pants and flipped lightly onto the ring.
Sunlight caught his spiky black hair and carefree grin. He looked like a cheerful kid on an outing.
The atmosphere on the opposite side, however, was explosive.
The girl in a blue-and-red qipao-style martial arts outfit glared at him.
She was tall, her skin pale as jade. Her long black hair fluttered slightly, stirred by her rising anger.
Her delicate face, which should have been gentle and bright, was now icy cold.
Her large eyes brimmed with unshed tears and burning fury.
She bit her lower lip so hard her knuckles turned white from gripping her clothes.
"Hmph!"
She turned her head sharply away, as if even looking at Goku offended her.
Goku scratched his head and stepped closer, confused.
"Uh… hello? Have we met somewhere before? Why do you look so angry? Did I steal your food or something?"
Those words were the final spark.
The girl spun around, tears finally spilling over.
She pointed at him, voice trembling with grievance.
"You… you actually ask me why I'm angry? And you're still thinking about food?! You big idiot! Heartbreaker! Big liar!!"
Her shout echoed across the entire stadium.
The crowd went dead silent.
Then—
The fire of gossip ignited.
"Watch my move!"
The girl launched herself forward like an enraged swallow.
Her red boots cut through the air, aiming straight at Goku's face.
"Whoa! So fast!" Goku leaned back instinctively.
Whoosh—
The kick passed just inches from his nose, wind pressure stinging his cheek.
She landed and followed up with a flurry of palm strikes.
Her technique was refined—blending the agility of the Kame School with the heavy, forceful style of the Ox-King.
Her assault was relentless.
"Hey, hey! Let's talk this out!" Goku shouted while dodging left and right like a nimble monkey. "I didn't even finish eating yet!"
"Eat, eat, eat! All you ever think about is eating!" Her attacks grew sharper.
"In your heart, am I not even worth a meal? I waited for you for years! Always waiting for you to come find me! And you forgot me completely!"
The audience exploded.
"Wait, what is this plot twist?! Isn't this supposed to be a martial arts tournament?!"
"Did that kid named Goku abandon her?"
"Look at her crying! She's so beautiful—he must be a scumbag!"
"I thought he looked simple and honest! Turns out he's a playboy!"
"Beat that heartbreaker!"
Some overly excited spectators even started throwing empty bottles and popcorn toward the ring.
The entire arena turned against Goku in seconds.
In the waiting area, Oolong rolled on the ground laughing, clutching his stomach.
"Hahaha! Retribution!"
"Even a blockhead like Goku has romantic debt? This is better than the Tao Pai Pai fight!"
Puar floated nearby, looking worried.
"Master Goku isn't that kind of person… but he can be dense. Maybe it's a misunderstanding?"
Krillin leaned casually against the wall, arms crossed, smirking.
Seeing Goku—who would charge headfirst at King Piccolo without hesitation—now flustered by a crying girl was priceless.
"Krillin! Don't just stand there laughing!" Goku called out while narrowly avoiding a chop to the forehead.
"Help me think! She says she's been waiting for me, but I don't remember at all!"
"You deal with your own debts!" Krillin shouted back, shrugging theatrically. "A man must take responsibility for his actions!"
On the ring, the girl's tears streamed down like broken pearls.
"Can you really… not remember anything?"
She suddenly stopped and drew two gleaming short swords from behind her back.
Though they were blunted tournament props, they still shimmered coldly in the sunlight.
She assumed an ancient stance—the sword style passed down by the Ox-King.
Master Roshi adjusted his sunglasses below the stage, eyes flashing.
"That stance… Kame School footwork combined with the Ox-King's heavy blade techniques?"
He stroked his beard.
"I see… this little girl's identity is obvious now. Goku really does have luck with women."
"Hey! Using weapons is too much! That's a foul, right?!" Goku waved his hands while backing away.
"Shut up!" Her blades flashed like falling snow.
Each strike carried years of longing and resentment.
Though Goku's strength far surpassed hers, facing a girl who was crying and calling him a heartbreaker left him completely unsure how to respond.
He could only dodge instinctively, weaving awkwardly through the swordlight.
"Tell me! Who am I?!" She halted briefly, panting, glaring at him fiercely.
"As long as you say my name, I'll forgive you!"
Goku froze, scratching his head hard.
He mentally ran through every person he knew—even random travelers he had met once.
"Bulma? No, she's over there yelling at me."
"Launch? No, wrong hair color. And Launch only gets mean when she sneezes."
"Then who… are you?"
