Chapter 191 - Story Notice

This is just a small little thing I'm placing here to summarise the changes of the Forgotten Shore from the original novel. It's as much for me as it is you readers, so you can skip this chapter if you want.

The Lord Shards

Adam has 3 Shards

Adam's allies have 2 Shards

Nephis can only get 2 Shards

The Bright Castle

Tessai is dead

Seishan and Gemma are actively plotting to overthrow Gunlaug

Adam and Sasrir hold high positions of power and influence

Gunlaug is more paranoid and strict compared to his original self

The Forgotten Shore

Saint and Weaver's Mask are both is Adam's posession

New monsters have taken root in the city because of Adam and Sasrir killing so many local powers. This is why Nephis secured the six Soul Shards to enter the Castle, whereas in the novel only Sunny and Cassie could afford to enter initially

The relationship between Nephis and Sunny is slightly different from the novel, just to show that since Shadow Slave has now become a real world, strict processes don't neccessarily apply.Small things can change, and people can be better or worse than their book counterparts.

Characters

Sunny: In this rendition of the world, Sunny and Nephis have a slightly closer relationship, and he isn't so wound up about his Flaw. This is because, in the story, Sunny had to constantly try and control the conversation to misdirect and conceal, which I feel I might not have the skill to write constistently. So Sunny will be slighlty more "honest" here

Nephis: Here, Changing Star is more expressive and less blunt than her original. I found Nephis a terrible character to read about, and writing about her would be even worse, so I tweaked her a bit. She is still as stubborn, obstinate and strange as always, but she is also more of a conversationalist

Cassie: Cassie is very tough. She is meant to be quiet and subdued for the first half of the Forgotten Shore, only coming into herself after the timeskip when Sunny leaves, but I keep accidently swapping her with the Cassie from the future when writing. So if she seems strangely weak or withdrawn, it's because I'm trying to emphasise to myself. You can also consider it because of her visions (which have become more extreme now that Adam is involved)

Caster: Not much to say here. There will be several PoV chapters from Caster, and I will try to do him justice. His main characteristics are honor, loyatly, pride and the weight of expectations.

Kai: Obviously, Kai doesn't end up trapped in a well this time around, so he is never rescued by Sunny and recruited. Adam has also helped him keep him mood up over the last two years, so Nightingale is more chipper compared to his self in the novel

Sieshan: Seishan is another PoV character, and her characteristics are grace, respect, danger and secrecy. She is somewhat afraid of Adam, but also intrigued by him. Unlike in the original story, she is actively plotting against Gunlaug from the start with Gemma.
