The logic made absolutely no sense. Even Jayden knew that. Yet Sarah found herself unable to formulate a proper argument.
The intensity of his stare robbed her of coherent thoughts. Jayden silenced her. She stood there in silence and couldn't resist anymore.
Jayden slowly extended his hand once more. He demanded that she enter his privacy. Once again, he left her no choice.
"I need your left hand."
Sarah clenched her left hand instinctively before reluctantly raising it. Her gaze dropped to the floor. She couldn't bear the way he kept looking at her. His eyes stared sharply at her. He wouldn't let her go without taking her hand.
Without saying another word, Jayden gently took her hand. His fingers wrapped around hers.
It was warm and steady. He carefully held her upper hand. He slowly unfolded her palm.
Her skin felt cool against his touch.
"Don't be nervous," he said quietly. "I'm not going to hurt you. I need to scan your palm."
