Chapter 11 - The Grandmaster Who Followed a Mortal

After the battle, they sat down facing each other.

"I never imagined I could be defeated by you. I was confident I'd one-shot you but it turned out the other way around."

She laughed softly.

Dranexx folded his arms.

"Don't give me that. You and I both know you were hiding your full arsenal during our fight."

"Whatever do you mean?"

"Whatever. I won. So what happens now?"

"As of now… I've decided to follow you."

"Oh okay—"

He paused.

"Say what now? Follow me?"

"Yes. I've decided to become your trusted partner from now on."

"BS. Like I'd agree to that. What's going on? Why?"

Liberty stepped forward.

"My lady, please reconsider. Surely you don't mean to follow this lowly human—"

"Ah, this 'lowly human' almost put you six feat under out of existence."

Dranexx looked at him calmly.

"Thank your Grandmaster for saving you."

"Now, now, Liberty. Don't be rude."

She crossed her legs.

"He and I battled. I lost. Simple."

"But my lady, what will the other Grandmasters think? You must think this through!"

"Yeah… what will they do? I'm curious."

Dranexx leaned back slightly.

"I'm already exhausted after fighting just one of you and she didn't even go all out. I can't imagine the rest without holding back."

"They won't be a problem. If push comes to shove, I'll handle them myself."

"You jest."

Liberty frowned.

"You are among the top seven strongest Grandmasters, yes but the others are far deadlier. More versatile. Not to mention their Monarchs."

Dranexx smirked.

"So you're top seven, huh? Nice… I see."

He pointed at her.

"List them in order for me."

"No."

Dranexx blinked.

"What do you mean no? Just drop a hint."

"Chop."

She flicked his forehead.

"Ouch! What was that for?!"

"Because you're reckless."

She sighed.

"Accept it. You need me. You and your friend won't survive in this world alone without a guardian like me."

She glanced away briefly.

"I won't give Akube the same treatment I give you but fine, here's a hint. The Grandmaster of Celestial is among the top seven."

"Oh really?" Dranexx grinned.

"Ain't that sweet. Looks like Akube's momma is one of the big ones."

"She has it out for you. Ever since that incident with the Heavenly Paladin, she hasn't been calm."

Her expression became more serious.

"That's one reason I want to join you."

"You don't have—"

"Listen carefully."

The atmosphere quieted slightly.

"Celestial is unstable and your best friend hasn't fully mastered his new power."

She looked directly at him.

"If she forces him to unleash it you might have to fight him one day."

A brief silence followed.

"And I don't want that."

Dranexx leaned back.

"You worry too much and that's exactly why I can't let you join me." He sighed "I don't need a momma stressing over me."

Her face immediately turned red.

"Momma?! I am not your mother! Just your companion!"

"Earlier you said your true body can't exist in the physical realm."

Dranexx shrugged.

"Even if I allowed it, that's problem one. Problem two… I don't want to drag a beautiful hot goddess like you down."

She froze.

"Beautiful…?"

Her thoughts spiraled.

Calm down. He's just a kid.

"You good over there?" Dranexx looked at her strangely "You look overwhelmed."

"Hush! I'm fine."

She cleared her throat "About that… I already used 50% of my power to create that sword. If you hold it then—"

"Soral."

"Huh!? Don't interrupt me."

Dranexx smirked slightly.

"Soral. That's your name now. That's what I'll call you."

He pointed at the sword.

"And the sword? It's Anti-Soral."

A sudden glow filled the area.

"Contract complete."

Her eyes widened.

"When did we sign a contract?!"

"I don't know."

Dranexx shrugged.

"So… you like the name?" She paused briefly "Soral. I like it."

"Good."

Dranexx stretched slightly.

"As for moving freely in the physical realm, I might have a solution."

"You do?"

"Yeah. What if I seal 40% of your power from this body and 20% of Anti-Soral? You keep the sword. That'll leave you with 40% of your power total. That enough?"

"Good idea but I dislike my powers being sealed."

"Got a better suggestion?"

She narrowed her eyes slightly.

"Do you even have the authority to seal my power?"

Dranexx grinned.

"Not yet. I'll create one" He pointed at himself.

"Have you forgotten who you're talking to?"

"Seriously… what a child."

"You know I carry the blessings of the Grandmaster of Pure Magic and the Grandmaster of Void, right?"

She went silent.

"Yes… ARCHEON SOVEREIGN and Void Sovereign Authority."

Dranexx looked at her calmly.

"Those are the skills I received from their blessings."

She stared at him.

"You sealed them…?"

Her voice lowered.

"You could have easily erased me completely. The Grandmaster of Void outclasses me in every way and you carry his blessing too."

Her eyes narrowed.

"Who are you really? How were you contained in the mortal realm?"

Dranexx laughed.

"i don't know"He smirked " Let's say it's luck kuhahahaha"

Silence.

"Luck?!"

"Yeah. Your blessing gave me the skill Authority Over Ruin. It practically grants authority over anything."

She stayed quiet for a moment.

"There's one ability you have not from any Grandmaster, right?"

"I obtained that one through my own desire when I entered this world."

She studied him carefully.

"And why that kind of ability?"

"Don't ask. Just know it's powerful."

Dranexx stood up.

"So can we move across dimensions together now, momma?"

She was speechless.

"My Lord—"

"Absolutely not."

Dranexx immediately stopped her.

"Don't call me that. Dranexx is fine. I'm nowhere near that stage."

Liberty sighed.

"As my lady follows you… so shall I."

"Screw that. I'm out."

"Wait."

Soral stood up.

"I'm serious. You have surpassed me effortlessly. Please allow us to walk with you."

Dranexx paused.

"We're cool as friends That's it."

She smiled softly

"That's enough for me."

"Good"

Dranexx opened a portal behind him.

"When you're ready, we'll head to the physical realm. Don't worry, I've got everything under control"

"I trust you."

Dranexx smirked.

"Good to know."
