Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Devil in Black

CHAPTER 1: THE DEVIL IN BLACK

Rain ruled the city that night.

It poured endlessly over skyscrapers, broken streets, and neon lights that flickered like dying stars. Midnight in Veridian City was never safe—but tonight felt different. The air itself carried fear.

A black car moved slowly through the empty road.

No headlights.

No sound.

People who noticed it immediately looked away. Rumors traveled fast in the underworld, and one rumor had returned after five long years.

The Devil in Black was back.

Near the docks, inside an abandoned warehouse, Karim Volkov—one of the city's rising mafia smugglers—sat tied to a chair. Blood stained his shirt, sweat dripping down his trembling face.

"I paid everything!" he cried. "I followed the deal!"

Footsteps echoed across the concrete floor.

Slow.

Measured.

Terrifying.

A tall man stepped out of the shadows wearing a perfectly tailored black suit. Black gloves covered his hands. His face remained half hidden beneath darkness.

"You paid," the man said calmly, "but loyalty cannot be bought twice."

Karim's breathing broke. "Please… I have family…"

The Devil in Black stopped inches away.

"So did the man you betrayed."

Silence.

Then a single gunshot shattered the warehouse.

By morning, Karim's body was discovered near the river—clean, untouched, hands folded peacefully over his chest. Only one thing marked him.

A black card.

A devil symbol burned into its surface.

Within hours, every mafia family understood the message.

The king had returned to reclaim his throne.

CHAPTER 2: BLOOD WARNING

Fear spread faster than news.

Across the city, powerful mafia leaders received identical envelopes delivered without witnesses. Inside each envelope lay the same black card.

The Devil's Mark.

Old men who once ruled the underground locked their doors that night. Younger gang leaders armed their guards. Deals were canceled. Shipments stopped.

War was coming.

Detective Arman Hale stood over Karim's corpse at the morgue, confusion tightening his jaw.

"No torture," his partner muttered. "No struggle. Just execution."

Arman stared at the devil symbol.

"This isn't murder," he said quietly. "It's a message."

Meanwhile, miles away, Ariana Khan left her university late, unaware that two black SUVs followed her car through the rain.

She noticed only when the road suddenly blocked.

Masked men surrounded her vehicle.

Her scream vanished beneath thunder as darkness swallowed everything.

CHAPTER 3: THE KIDNAPPED GIRL

Ariana woke slowly.

Her head throbbed. Soft light filled a massive bedroom decorated with expensive furniture, velvet curtains, and marble floors.

Not a dungeon.

Not chains.

Luxury.

Yet the locked doors and armed guards outside told another story.

She rushed toward the exit—but it opened before she reached it.

He entered.

Tall. Silent. Commanding.

The same black suit. The same terrifying calm presence.

Every instinct told her to run.

"Who are you?" she demanded, fear shaking her voice.

The man removed his gloves slowly, placing them on the table.

"You were taken for a reason."

"Kidnapping me is a mistake!"

Dark eyes finally met hers.

"I don't make mistakes."

Her heartbeat pounded.

"Why am I here?"

A pause followed.

Then he spoke words that froze her completely.

"Because your father started a war he couldn't finish."

CHAPTER 4: DEVIL'S RULE

Days passed inside the mansion.

Ariana realized she was not treated like a hostage. She had food, freedom within limits, even protection—but never permission to leave.

Every hallway contained guards loyal only to him.

Every camera watched silently.

The Devil in Black rarely appeared, yet his presence controlled everything.

One night, gunfire exploded outside the estate.

Windows shook as rival mafia forces attacked the gates.

From the balcony, Ariana watched chaos unfold—men shouting, bullets tearing through darkness.

Then she saw him.

Walking calmly into gunfire.

Issuing orders without raising his voice.

Enemies fell within minutes.

Merciless.

Precise.

Terrifyingly efficient.

Later that night, blood stained his sleeve when he entered the house again.

"You're injured!" she said before thinking.

He glanced at her, surprised.

"It's nothing."

For the first time, she noticed exhaustion behind his cold expression.

"Why protect me?" she whispered.

His answer came quietly.

"Because killing you would be easier."

CHAPTER 5: DANGEROUS DEAL

The truth revealed itself piece by piece.

Ariana's father had once partnered with the most powerful mafia empire in the city—before betrayal destroyed it.

That empire belonged to him.

The Devil in Black.

Now enemies hunted everyone connected to that past, and Ariana had become leverage in a deadly game.

"You're using me," she accused.

"Yes."

The honesty shocked her.

"But I'm also keeping you alive."

Outside, alliances collapsed. Assassins entered the city. Mafia families prepared for open war.

That night, Ariana attempted escape through a service corridor.

She almost reached freedom.

Strong hands caught her wrist.

He stood behind her.

Disappointed—but calm.

"I told you," he said softly, pulling her back toward the mansion, "the world outside is far more dangerous than me."

Gunshots echoed in the distance again.

War had officially begun.

And Ariana finally understood the terrifying truth—

Being kidnapped by the Devil in Black might be the only reason she was still alive.
