"We'll have the forensic teams compare everything from the tires to the engine."
The elevator continued climbing.
Daniella's earlier description of the vehicle remained in Santiago's thoughts. She had remembered seeing a second dark car near the road, but her memory had been blurred by the chaos of the shooting. If there really had been two vehicles present before the attack, then the person responsible had likely positioned them both before Daniella ever arrived.
Daniella could no longer bring herself to sit still. She had been pacing the corridor for several minutes, her hands clasped tightly in front of her as she repeatedly glanced toward the operating theatre doors.
The red light above them remained illuminated, offering no indication of when the surgery would end or whether Camilla's condition had improved.
