"But I'm bleeding."
"Yes."
He didn't soften the truth.
"And because you're bleeding, we're not going to assume anything. We're going to keep monitoring you, identify the source and treat it."
Another cramp tightened across her abdomen, and Daniella winced.
Dr. Elias immediately turned toward the monitor.
"Tell me when the pain begins."
"It already started."
He watched the monitor carefully, then looked back at her.
"All right. Keep breathing. Don't fight the pain by tensing your body."
Daniella tried to follow his instruction, but tears continued to slip down her cheeks.
"I can't lose my baby."
Dr. Elias's expression softened, though his hands remained steady as he continued his examination.
"Then let us concentrate on keeping you and the baby stable."
He turned toward the nurse.
"Prepare another set of blood samples, and I want the obstetric team informed that the bleeding has increased."
"Yes, Doctor."
The nurse immediately moved to carry out the instructions.
