Chapter 21 - Rise of the Serpent’s Will

The battlefield had completely transformed.

What was once a structured underground corridor was now nothing more than a broken war zone. The ceiling had partially collapsed, metal beams hung dangerously, and cracks spread across the ground like spiderwebs.

The air itself felt unstable.

Heavy.

Burning.

Alive.

Crimson flames flickered violently across one side…

While emerald energy pulsed like a living force on the other.

At the center of it all—

Rudra stood.

Unshaken.

Unmoved.

But no longer uninterested.

Across from him—

Aadhya stood with her team.

Her breathing was steady now.

Not rushed.

Not panicked.

Behind her, the serpent aura had changed completely.

It was no longer wild.

No longer unstable.

It was controlled.

Coiled.

Watching.

Waiting.

Rudra tilted his head slightly.

His crimson eyes narrowed just a bit.

"So… you've finally started understanding your power."

Aadhya didn't reply immediately.

Her focus was absolute.

Every movement.

Every breath.

Every shift in energy—

She could feel it now.

Dev stepped forward, cracking his neck.

"Alright… round two."

Kabir groaned behind him.

"Bhai round 2 nahi… ye boss fight ka phase 2 hai 😭"

Sana ignored both of them.

Her gaze stayed locked on Rudra.

"Stay coordinated. One mistake and we're done."

Rudra raised his hand slowly.

Crimson flames spiraled upward.

The temperature rose instantly.

"Show me," he said calmly.

And then—

He moved.

This time, faster than before.

Dev reacted instantly.

He slammed both fists into the ground.

"GO!"

The floor beneath Rudra exploded upward—

Massive stone pillars shot toward him from multiple directions.

At the same time—

Sana dashed in from the left.

Her speed created afterimages.

Her strike was precise—

Aimed at Rudra's neck.

Kabir extended both hands.

His barrier didn't just form—

It compressed into a focused blast.

"Please work… PLEASE WORK…"

Three attacks.

Perfect timing.

Perfect coordination.

BOOM.

The entire area erupted.

Stone shattered.

Energy exploded.

Dust covered everything.

For a second—

No one could see anything.

Kabir coughed.

"…did we…?"

A sudden wave of heat answered him.

The dust burned away.

And Rudra stepped out.

Unharmed.

But this time—

There was a faint mark on his sleeve.

Burned.

Slight.

But visible.

Dev noticed.

And smirked.

"…we touched him."

Rudra looked at the mark briefly.

Then back at them.

And smiled.

"Good."

His aura surged again.

Stronger than before.

More intense.

More focused.

"Now my turn."

He vanished.

Dev barely raised his guard—

Rudra's punch collided with his arms.

CRACK.

The ground beneath Dev shattered.

He gritted his teeth, barely holding his position.

"…he's stronger again…"

Before Dev could recover—

Rudra disappeared again.

Sana reacted instantly—

But too late.

Rudra appeared behind her.

His palm struck her back.

BOOM.

She was launched across the battlefield.

Kabir shouted,

"SANA!"

He raised a barrier—

Just in time to catch her impact.

The barrier cracked.

But held.

Kabir fell to one knee.

"…I can't keep doing this…"

Arjun stepped in.

His energy flared sharply.

"Then don't do it alone."

He launched forward—

His strikes fast, precise, calculated.

For a few seconds—

He managed to hold Rudra back.

Punches.

Blocks.

Energy bursts.

Each collision sent shockwaves through the broken corridor.

But even Arjun—

Was being pushed back.

Rudra blocked his final strike and pushed him away.

"You're skilled," Rudra said.

"But not enough."

And then—

He looked past him.

At Aadhya.

"Come."

Everything went quiet again.

Aadhya stepped forward.

Slowly.

Calmly.

Her team moved to support—

But she raised her hand slightly.

"Let me."

Dev frowned.

"You sure?"

She nodded.

Because now—

She understood something.

This wasn't just a fight.

This was a test.

And she had to pass it.

Rudra waited.

No attack.

No rush.

A rare moment of stillness in the battlefield.

Aadhya closed her eyes.

The serpent aura behind her shifted.

It coiled tightly.

Closer.

More connected.

She could feel it clearly now.

Not as power.

Not as something separate.

But as herself.

Her eyes opened.

Glowing bright emerald.

And she moved.

Not fast.

Not explosive.

Precise.

Rudra attacked first.

A straight strike—

Fast enough to shatter stone.

But Aadhya stepped aside smoothly.

Minimal movement.

Perfect timing.

She countered instantly.

Her hand struck forward—

Wrapped in serpent energy.

Rudra blocked—

But this time—

The impact pushed him back slightly.

A step.

Silence filled the battlefield.

Kabir whispered,

"…again…"

Dev smirked.

"She's getting better every second."

Rudra straightened.

His smile widened.

"Yes…"

His aura flared violently.

"THIS is what I wanted."

He attacked again—

Faster.

Stronger.

Relentless.

But Aadhya didn't panic.

She flowed.

Every movement connected.

Every step controlled.

The serpent aura moved with her—

Not behind her.

Not separate.

Together.

Their clash intensified.

BOOM.

CRACK.

SHOCKWAVE.

The entire facility trembled.

Rudra launched a burst of compressed dragon fire—

Aadhya deflected it.

Aadhya countered with a serpent strike—

Rudra blocked and slid back.

For the first time—

The fight was equal.

Not in raw power.

But in control.

Rudra stopped for a moment.

Breathing steady.

Eyes sharp.

"You've improved."

Aadhya stood firm.

"I told you…"

Her voice was calm.

"I won't run."

Rudra looked at her.

Long.

Carefully.

Then—

His expression changed.

Serious.

Truly serious.

"Then don't die."

His aura exploded.

Not outward—

But inward.

Condensed.

Compressed.

The flames darkened.

Almost black at the core.

The air distorted.

The pressure increased instantly.

Arjun's eyes widened.

"…this is bad."

Dev clenched his fists.

"He's going all out."

Kabir whispered,

"…we're dead…"

Rudra raised his hand.

Slowly.

"This is the difference…"

His voice echoed.

Heavy.

"…between awakening…"

The flames condensed further.

"…and true power."

Aadhya didn't move.

The serpent aura coiled tighter.

Ready.

Focused.

Because she knew—

This attack…

Would decide everything.

The battlefield fell completely silent.

Dragon fire vs Serpent will.

And in that moment—

Two ancient bloodlines stood at their peak.

Ready to clash once again.

To decide—

Who would dominate this era.
