Chapter 19 - Chapter nineteen

Dr Anderson's POV

I walked into my office this morning, grinning from ear to ear. Soon, Dr Sofia will be at my mercy. Mr Crawford had the perfect plan, and there was no way it was going to fail.

I went through my schedule for the day, and I was surprised to see that lunch with Mr Crawford was penciled in.

I had no patience at the moment which gave me time to laze around, and more importantly, give the finishing touches to Mr Crawford's plan.

A gentle knock on my door pulled me back into reality.

"Come on in," I replied from where I sat, and the door opened to reveal Sonia, Dr Sofia's secretary.

"Good morning, Dr Anderson." She greeted me, flashing me a charming smile.

With a lift of my eyebrows, I prodded her to state the reason for coming into my office.

"Dr Sofia sent for you. She wants you to report to her office as soon as possible." Sonia informed me.

I stood up from where I sat and walked towards her.

How come I didn't notice just how pretty Sonia was all this time?

When she didn't move back or flinch a bit, I grabbed her by the waist.

I heard her suck in the air but couldn't tell if it was from shock or pleasure.

With caution, I placed my lips on hers and she responded immediately, granting me full access to suck on her tongue.

My frequent affair with Dr Sofia had somehow made me forget the essence of youth.

Here I was smooching Sonia with so much ease and pleasure, taking note of her responsiveness, and her softness which was a contrast to Dr Sofia's hardness, which was brought about by age.

With our lips still interlocked, I moved her backward until her back was pressed against a wall, and ever slowly I traced her lips with my fingers lightly, from her lips down to her collarbone. I traced down still, undoing each button I came by, and leaving her upper body half-naked.

From the openings, I could see the black bra she had on. I tried not to focus on her cleavage which was very much exposed, but when I couldn't, I stopped touching her altogether and moved away from her.

I could see the disappointment on her face just then, as she hurriedly did the buttons, and I laughed inwardly.

If only she knows what I have in mind.

"You should head back," I said to Sonia, who now looked more angry than disappointed.

When she got to the door, I added.

"Tell Dr. Sofia you didn't meet me at the office," I instructed while she stepped out.

From where I stood in my office, I could hear Sonia, speaking with someone, but I couldn't make out what was being said, and I was not about to go find out.

I sat on one of the sofa to put myself in order, after which I stepped out with no destination in mind. Of course, I had no intention to respond to Dr Sofia's call. She can go to hell for all I care.

I walked through the hospital's hallway, cheerfully returning the smiles and greetings I received from visitors and staff.

When I got to a particular ward, I stopped. Memories from two years ago, coupled with the information I got last night flooded my mind at a rushing speed.

For two years, I had avoided this ward, and beaten myself up every time I walked past it.

But not today.

I stepped into the ward, with no restrictions from me, and For once, since the incident, I didn't feel guilty. I was the victim.

The ward was just as I remembered it, except it was empty. As I looked at the empty bed, images of the lady flashed in my mind, and I shuddered.

Not in self-loath but in self-pity.

I stood and just watched, wondering what would have happened if only I had defied Dr Sofia's order on the night of the incident.

Of course, I would have headed straight home and things would be very much different now.

I remember thrusting in and out of Dr Sofia that night on her order. Even in my panicked state, Dr Sofia had taken advantage of me, and that night had marked the beginning of my unethical relationship with Dr Sofia.

I lost count of how long I had stayed in the room until the door pulled open.

Quickly, I brought my left wrist close to my face, and only then did I realize that I had stayed in this room for over an hour.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Dr Sofia asked, looking pissed.

I turned slowly to look at her, but I said nothing.

"Here you are, idling away when I have been searching the whole place for you." She continued in a milder tone when I did not attempt to give her a reply

"Were you?" I asked indifferently, raising an eyebrow.

"Is everything alright? You've never visited this room since the incident that occurred two years ago." She stated in a manner that depicted concern, but I was not to be fooled.

Dr Sofia... " I started to say but I was interrupted by the vigorous shaking of her head in displeasure.

"It's Sofia." She corrected, and I scoffed inwardly.

"I have something for you," she said when I said nothing.

She headed towards the exit while I reluctantly trailed behind.

Sonia's POV

I headed out of Dr Anderson's office, highly disappointed. There I was, happy that my dreams had finally come true but he had stopped touching me altogether.

Once I turned round, after shutting the door, I saw Dr Sofia, right in front of me.

First, my heart skipped a beat as I imagined what would happen to me if Dr Sofia found out what just transpired between Dr Anderson and me.

"What the hell took you so long?" She demanded.

"Dr Anderson is not in his office ma'am," I explained while I tried to slow my racing heart down.

"How long did it take you to check for him in his office? Dr Sofia asked, moving towards me.

"I only came back to see if he returned to his office when I didn't find him in the ward." I lied.

"He still hasn't returned?" Dr Sofia asked. She was now very close to Dr Anderson's door.

"No ma'am," I replied calmly, even though I was extremely scared.

"We should head back then." She said, turning to face me, and I let out the breath I was holding.

I walked in front of Dr Sophia in the direction of her office, wishing the whole time that my disorganized steps wouldn't give me away.

Soon my desk was in sight, and I hurried, in my disorganized manner to my seat, after getting the door for Dr. Sofia.

Dr Sofia, on reaching the already opened door, pulled it close and headed back to the direction which we had arrived from.

I believe she went in search of Dr Anderson, and I was right because about an hour later, she returned with Dr Anderson trailing behind.

I looked on from Dr Sofia to Dr Anderson, noting the difference in their expression

While Dr Sofia looked pleased, and unbothered, Anderson looked hesitant as though he would rather not be here.

I looked discreetly at him, and our eyes locked just as Dr Sofia pushed the door open, and stepped in.

Did he just smile at me or was that my mind playing games?
