"Have you checked the surveillance footage?"
Kevin Keane frowned. "I have, but the cameras were broken. Nothing was recorded from after closing time last night until this morning."
'Just as I expected,' Damian Xavier thought.
Whoever was determined to steal the file would have found a way to disable the cameras.
"I also found something else, which might be related to this incident." Kevin Keane looked at Damian Xavier, his tone serious, and he seemed a bit hesitant.
"Speak," Damian Xavier said. The single-word command revealed his impatience to know more.
Without the surveillance footage, this could very well become a cold case.
Kevin Keane watched Damian Xavier's expression and spoke hesitantly, "Chairman Jennings from the board of directors said today... that your mother approached him a few days ago, hoping he would stop the partnership between the Xavier Group and the Sterling Group..."
"Go on." Damian Xavier's expression grew even colder.
