Bai Lian rose to his feet, his gaze calm yet sharp. He positioned himself in front of Su Yaoyao, clearly displeased. He didn't want anyone to see her fair legs.
"What's going on?" the Admiral's voice was deep and powerful, exuding a reassuring aura.
The soldier was breathless and in such a rush to report that he couldn't speak clearly, merely repeating, "It's bad, it's bad..."
Admiral Bai Lian's brow furrowed slightly. "Calm down," he said in a tone that brooked no argument. "Tell me slowly."
The soldier took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down, and stammered, "It's... It's Deputy General Reg, in the confinement room. He... he seems to be on the verge of a rampage!"
The moment he spoke, the entire medical department erupted in an uproar.
Doctors stopped their work, and nurses gasped, covering their mouths. They all exchanged shocked glances.
Admiral Bai Lian's gaze turned sharp in an instant as he realized the gravity of the situation.
He turned his head to Pani and gave a decisive command, "Pani, you stay here and look after Yaoyao. Ensure her safety."
Pani nodded solemnly, their gaze resolute. "Rest assured, Admiral. I will protect Yaoyao."
Bai Lian's gaze fell on Su Yaoyao, a flicker of tenderness and worry in his eyes. "Yaoyao, just wait for me here. Don't go running off."
But Su Yaoyao grabbed Bai Lian's arm, her face etched with worry. "I'm going too. I consider Reg a friend now. He's in danger, and I can't just sit here and do nothing."
'Reg may have bullied her, but at least she'd gotten two meals out of him.'
Seeing the determination in Su Yaoyao's eyes, Bai Lian hesitated for a moment before finally nodding.
Bai Lian swept Su Yaoyao into his arms and strode purposefully toward the confinement room, with Pani and the soldier hurrying to keep up.
The soldier reported as they hurried along, "The Deputy General's strength suddenly surged, I don't know why. It's like he's completely lost control. He's smashed cracks into the walls of the confinement room, and the few guards watching him couldn't stop him. Some are already injured!"
Bai Lian's brow furrowed, and he quickened his pace.
Soon, they arrived at the confinement room.
The area outside the confinement room was in disarray. Several soldiers were clutching at their wounds, their faces a mask of terror and exhaustion.
The moment Bai Lian approached, he heard muffled impacts and Reg's beast-like roars from inside the confinement room.
"Did you use a Rage Suppressor on him?" Bai Lian asked.
"We... we couldn't even get close," the soldier said, his expression troubled. 'He's an S-Class Black Panther Beastman.'
Bai Lian's expression darkened, and he placed Su Yaoyao into Pani's arms.
Startled, Pani quickly took hold of her, securing her firmly. 'The little female looks so delicate. She really is light, and so soft and fragrant.'
'Now I understand why Admiral Bai Lian loves carrying her so much, when he could have just bought her an automatic wheelchair.'
Bai Lian took out the Rage Suppressor, took a deep breath, and prepared to enter the confinement room.
But he was stopped by Su Yaoyao, who grabbed his arm. "Leon..."
'She was worried Leon would get hurt. But if no one controlled Reg, then Reg and many others would be injured.'
Bai Lian offered a small smile and gently patted the back of her hand. "Don't worry. I'm an SS-level White Lion. I'll be fine."
With that, he gently pried her fingers loose and resolutely stepped into the confinement room.
Inside, Reg's body was contorted, his muscles bulging, and his eyes were bloodshot. He had already revealed parts of his beast form, looking nothing like he usually did.
Upon seeing Bai Lian enter, he let out a furious roar and lunged forward, claws and fangs bared.
Bai Lian moved nimbly, swiftly sidestepping Reg's attack. "Reg, snap out of it!" he yelled. But Reg seemed unable to hear him, continuing his crazed assault.
As he evaded, Bai Lian observed Reg's state, trying to find an opening to inject the suppressor.
Su Yaoyao's face was pale as she stared, unblinking, at the door to the confinement room. Her hands subconsciously clenched the hem of her clothes, her nails digging so deep they nearly pierced her palms.
She could clearly hear the violent sounds of the fight within, and every impact struck her heart like a physical blow.
Pani's heart ached seeing Su Yaoyao like this. They offered quiet reassurance, "Yaoyao, don't worry too much. The Admiral is very powerful. I'm sure he can bring Reg under control."
Su Yaoyao only nodded mechanically, her gaze remaining fixed on the closed door.
Inside the confinement room, Reg's attacks grew more and more ferocious, making it increasingly difficult for Bai Lian to dodge.
Reg's strength continued to escalate. His body began to be coated in a layer of hard, black Armor—he was drawing on the power of his Spiritual Body.
Bai Lian's brow furrowed tightly. 'If I don't use my Spiritual Body, I might not be able to control a rampaging Reg... but...'
Suddenly, Reg let out a deafening roar. A powerful shockwave of energy erupted from his body, blasting Bai Lian off his feet and sending him crashing heavily into the confinement room wall. Bai Lian coughed up a mouthful of blood, but his gaze remained firm.
When Su Yaoyao heard the tremendous crash, she could no longer suppress her anxiety. She broke free from Pani's embrace and charged into the confinement room.
"Yaoyao!" Pani cried out, but it was too late to follow.
Ignoring the pain in her leg, Su Yaoyao burst into the confinement room. The sight of the injured Bai Lian and the frenzied Reg made her eyes instantly turn red.
Just as Reg was about to attack Bai Lian again, she cast her fear aside and lunged forward, placing herself between them.
"Reg, wake up!" she screamed, her voice cracking with a sob. As she watched the sharp claws descend upon her, she squeezed her eyes shut.
"Yaoyao!" Terror filled Bai Lian's face. He tried to block the attack, but it was too late!
Just then! Reg's body jolted, and his attack halted.
A look of agony crossed his face, as if he were fighting a fierce internal battle.
"Yao... Yaoyao... Soothe me, quickly..."
Su Yaoyao opened her eyes. Seeing Reg struggling in agony, she was thrown into a panic.
'Soothe?! That's what Reg said when he kissed me.'
With no time to think, Su Yaoyao rushed forward, cupped Reg's face in her hands, rose onto her tiptoes, and pressed her lips to his.
As their kiss deepened, the exchange instantly stabilized Reg's Rage Value. He lifted Su Yaoyao, instinctively demanding more.
Su Yaoyao's eyes were squeezed shut, her mind consumed by a single thought: 'Soothe him. I have to soothe Reg!'
Suddenly, a warm white light radiated from Su Yaoyao's body, illuminating the entire confinement room.
Bai Lian watched this unfold in utter disbelief. He reached out to touch the white light, and a few tendrils of it flowed into his body through his fingertips, instantly connecting with his soul.
An intense pleasure swept through his entire body, as if every single one of his cells was being relaxed and nourished in that moment.
'This... This is a spiritual power soothing!'
Even Pani, standing outside the door, sensed it and was stunned. "Such powerful spiritual power..."
A beam of white light shone from Su Yaoyao's forehead and entered Reg's, linking them to the Spirit World.
She felt as if she had been abruptly sucked inside. Opening her eyes, she found herself facing a massive, tangled ball of yarn.
