Dan gently placed his hand on the head of the beautiful tiger cub that had grown noticeably fast over the past few months because of the constant care and affection he received from every single member of the family. Everyone had become deeply attached to him, from the adults to the youngest children, especially Dan's daughters of all ages, from Sophia all the way to the cheerful little girls.
All of them adored little Baki. They constantly played with him, brushed his fur, hugged him happily, and spoiled him endlessly. Even though he sometimes became slightly annoyed by all the nonstop affection, especially whenever he was tired or wanted to sleep, he would still try to resist.
"Grrrrr… meooow…"
But the moment he noticed Dan staring at him with a firm look, he would immediately surrender completely and stop resisting, allowing the girls to pamper him however they wanted. He would simply lie there quietly, accepting his fate while his eyes carried an obvious look of pleading.
"Please save me from these annoying human girls!"
Yet that only made Dan smile faintly.
Then, after a few moments with his hand resting on Baki's head, Natural Energy slowly began gathering and flowing into the small tiger's body automatically through his ordinary breathing, through every inhale and exhale.
Dan had already decided that the little tiger would primarily grow and evolve through Natural Energy as part of an interesting scientific experiment. He was genuinely curious about the level of strength Baki might one day reach.
Would he eventually become something similar to the Great Sages of the Three Sacred Lands, where massive creatures capable of using Senjutsu lived? Would he grow into a gigantic tiger the size of a mountain? Would he eventually speak like them and live for thousands of years?
Those were fascinating questions, and the experiment itself was unique enough to be worth pursuing.
Because of that, during the past period Dan had conducted many detailed and intensive experiments on various animals such as rabbits, rats, birds, and foxes in order to modify the Walt Family's method of consuming Natural Energy so it would perfectly suit the little tiger cub he had named Baki.
The method itself was relatively simple in principle.
Instead of teaching the animal consciously how to consume Natural Energy, since it was still just an animal after all, the goal was to train the body itself to absorb Natural Energy automatically and continuously through biological conditioning until the process became an instinct engraved into the body itself.
This same method was also used within the Walt Family for members who found it difficult to master the complex Devouring Seal on their own. Even though Dan had already greatly improved the technique compared to the original version, which only he and his exceptionally talented twin daughters, Sera and Nira, had been capable of using properly, it still remained extremely difficult and required a very advanced understanding of high-level Fūinjutsu that went far beyond the mandatory minimum level enforced within the family.
And because not every member of the family would specialize deeply in Fūinjutsu, since everyone pursued fields that matched their own talents and interests, this practical technique had been developed instead. A more skilled user who fully understood the Devouring Seal would directly teach the bodies of others to absorb Natural Energy automatically even if they themselves could not properly use the seal.
At the same time, several extremely important safety seals were also added. These seals automatically stopped the absorption process once the body reached an appropriate and safe limit, functioning much like a safety valve.
Because exceeding the proper limit was extremely dangerous and could permanently damage the body by forcing it to handle more energy than it could endure.
