What Sato understood from his father was that the main reason behind the rapid and overwhelming rise of the Kingdom of Gelel so much so that it had surpassed the Blue Dragon Kingdom in many fields such as technology and science was not merely the genius of its founder or the quality of education he had received at the academies of the Blue Dragon Kingdom. There was another crucial factor behind it.
That factor was what the people of the Kingdom of Gelel called the Gelel Stone. Dan explained that it was, in reality, an enormous concentration of natural energy that had condensed beneath the earth into a vast underground vein stretching across a specific geographical region.
The origin of this unusual phenomenon traced back to an ancient event. When the Ōtsutsuki invaded the planet, they planted the Chakra Tree in that very region to harvest natural energy. The Chakra Tree gathers natural energy from an immense surrounding area, gradually drawing it toward itself.
However, before the tree could complete the process, conflict broke out among the Ōtsutsuki, preventing the harvesting from being finished. As a result, the natural energy that had already begun converging toward the tree but had not yet been absorbed remained within the region in an extremely concentrated state. Over countless years, that energy compressed deep within the layers of the earth, eventually forming what became known as the Gelel Stone Vein, a massive subterranean vein extending for enormous distances beneath the surface.
When the founder of the Kingdom of Gelel settled in that region and began exploiting it, he found himself in possession of an incredibly dense source of energy. Thanks to the philosophy of experimental science he had learned at the Blue Dragon Kingdom's academies, combined with his exceptional intelligence and ability to connect seemingly unrelated ideas, he managed to understand the nature of this underground vein, harness its power, and develop numerous technologies based upon natural energy.
As he continued researching and interacting with this natural vein, he eventually awakened a Kekkei Genkai related to it, triggered by his prolonged exposure to its overwhelming concentration of natural energy. This bloodline ability granted him an even greater affinity for manipulating natural energy. Upon these combined foundations, he established the Kingdom of Gelel, whose growth rapidly exceeded all expectations.
That was the essence of what Sato had learned from his father. After fully understanding it, he found himself developing a degree of curiosity toward this kingdom, though not an overwhelming one. What increased his interest further was another report that had reached him through his own intelligence network: the emergence of a new faction within Gelel's royal family that advocated direct confrontation with the Blue Dragon Kingdom.
Since its founding, the Kingdom of Gelel had never adopted the peaceful foreign policy that had characterized the Blue Dragon Kingdom since the days of its founding. Rather than avoiding unnecessary conflicts, Gelel had pursued an active policy of expansion, annexing one kingdom after another and one territory after another until its domain had grown tremendously. It had now expanded all the way to the borders of the Blue Dragon Kingdom itself.
Although the founding king of Gelel had left explicit instructions to his successors never to enter into conflict with the Blue Dragon Kingdom, the influence of those instructions had gradually weakened as generations passed. The newly emerged faction within the royal family based its arguments upon the immense strength Gelel now possessed. They believed that their kingdom had reached unprecedented military power and technological superiority over every other nation, and that it was finally time to challenge the Blue Dragon Kingdom long regarded as the strongest kingdom in the world and remove the last obstacle standing in the way of complete domination over the continent.
Reality, however, suggested something entirely different. The Blue Dragon Kingdom, by virtue of the policy it had maintained since its founding, would never initiate a war unless attacked first. Even if the Kingdom of Gelel conquered the entire continent and became the only remaining nation besides the Blue Dragon Kingdom, the latter would still have no intention of launching an invasion.
Sato set the file aside as he contemplated everything he had read and everything his father had told him. The faction calling for war might not yet hold the greatest influence within Gelel's royal family, but it undeniably existed—and history had proven many times that loud voices within royal courts often found their way to positions of real influence.
