"Your Majesty, I beg you to reconsider."
An elderly man said as he bowed before the middle-aged king seated at the head of the council chamber.
Silence filled the room. The expressions of those present shifted. A small minority seemed to agree with the old man, but the overwhelming majority displayed irritation and anger. Even so, none of them dared to speak, and everyone waited in silence for the king's response.
"There is no need for you to bow, Uncle. I have already made my decision on this matter."
The king replied in a steady voice, his expression unchanged.
"But, Your Majesty—"
The king interrupted him before he could continue.
"Uncle, you are relieved of your position. Please return to overseeing the education of the younger generation of the clan."
The king's voice was cold and resolute.
A look of helplessness appeared on the old man's face. He could not disobey the order, especially since the King of Gelel was also the leader of their royal clan. Although he was the king's uncle, the firmness in the king's tone made it clear that there was no hope of persuading him to abandon this dangerous course of action.
After a brief silence, the old man sighed, turned toward the others in the chamber, and said before leaving,
"You will regret encouraging His Majesty to wage this war. The Blue Dragon Kingdom is far from as simple as it appears."
One of the ministers was about to respond, but the king raised his hand to stop him. Despite everything, he still held great respect for the old man before him, for he had been the one who raised him.
The old man then bowed once more to the king and said,
"If Your Majesty has truly resolved to attack the Blue Dragon Kingdom, then at the very least help me prepare an escape route for part of our clan should events fail to unfold as you expect."
The king answered,
"I have already planned for that, Uncle. I will entrust that responsibility to you."
The old man let out another weary sigh before leaving the council chamber with heavy steps, utterly dejected. Deep within his heart, he had a powerful feeling that attacking the Blue Dragon Kingdom would not end peacefully. Above all, their founding ancestor had left behind an unmistakable command never to make enemies of that kingdom.
Recently, he had personally investigated the kingdom's history and discovered that it was nothing like the peaceful nation it appeared to be. It possessed immense hidden strength and a secret military force composed of extraordinary warriors. Yet it seemed that the overwhelming prosperity granted to their clan by the Gelel Stone had drowned them all in arrogance, leaving no one willing to listen to his warnings.
Thus, after realizing that war had become inevitable, his final request reflected a swift shift toward contingency planning and preserving the bloodline. At the very least, he wanted to secure an evacuation plan and a safe escape route for the remnants of the royal clan and its younger generation in case the military campaign suffered an unexpected defeat at the hands of the Blue Dragon Kingdom.
At that very same moment, in another dimension, Dan slowly opened his eyes after finishing the absorption of an enormous quantity of natural energy. He immediately sensed the flow of events and the decisions that had just been made within the Kingdom of Gelel concerning the Blue Dragon Kingdom.
A faint smile appeared on his face as he quietly murmured,
"Interesting."
