Helena said in a calm voice that still carried curiosity.
"Of course, go ahead. I'll try to answer what is on your mind."
Dan replied while holding the teacup in his hand.
"What are we to you?"
She was asking about Dan's view of everyone who was born, lived, and died in the inner world, and about their value in his eyes.
Dan calmly placed the cup on the table, looked at her with frank eyes, and said:
"To me, you can be considered my investment, and a part of my power, or more precisely... your entire world is a unique library that belongs to me, one that writes new books every moment and helps me acquire more knowledge. You are not merely beings who live, fight, and die. You are also a source of inspiration, experiments, and ideas, and everything you do adds a new layer to my understanding."
Dan fell silent for a moment, allowing his words to settle in her mind, then smiled and continued.
"This is the truth, and this is what you are to me."
In truth, even if his words might have seemed harsh to people from the inner world like her, she did not become angry or bothered by the way he described them, because she understood that his honesty was better than flattery, and she preferred to know the truth as it was rather than have him hide it behind pleasant words.
The second thing was that she herself was not as kind or gentle as she might appear. She possessed a harsh side, and she was capable of dealing with matters with extreme coldness because she had lived for millions of years and had seen so much of every different side of humanity and even the other races.
And if she had been given the chance to be in Dan's position, she would not have hesitated at all to do the same as him, because she knew that cruelty was sometimes a part of wisdom, and that clarity was the foundation of true relationships.
"I think we're done with our discussion for today."
Dan said, interrupting her train of thought, as though he had read what was going through her mind.
"Why don't we leave the rest for another time? In truth, there is someone who is still waiting for you, and she has even prepared a welcoming party while waiting for you. I don't want to keep her waiting any longer."
Helena's mind worked rapidly, analyzing his words in a fraction of a second and connecting them with everything she knew about the world and the figures connected to it. Then she raised her head, and her expression changed slightly in shock.
"Yes, as I expected, it is my eldest daughter, Sophia, or rather, as you call her in the inner world, the first to receive the title of king and open the path for the world, the Crimson Slaughter Queen."
Helena smiled happily, because one of the desires she had dreamed of for a very long time was to meet this pioneering figure, who had protected humanity during those dark ages, when humans were being devoured and enslaved by the other races.
She had stood against all those forces, slaughtered her enemies, and opened the path for humanity, and the Night Empress considered herself her successor because she had trained on the Slaughter Path for thousands of years before eventually creating her own Path, which could be considered a kind of Slaughter Path, but shaped according to her own vision.
And so she had deep respect for this figure, especially after her strength had advanced and she had gained information about that ancient era, as well as Sophia's Path and journey through it, and how she had brought all her enemies down beneath her sword. Therefore, she could be considered one of the Crimson Slaughter Queen's greatest admirers.
"Alright, then, let's go."
The Night Empress said, her voice carrying a slight hint of excitement, then rose from her place and followed Dan toward a meeting with a living legend, feeling that this moment was the culmination of a long journey.
