Ray POV
Wouldn't it be nice if she felt indebted towards me and willingly smiled and thanked me without that pet contract binding us together.
But then again, that woman was unpredictable. She exploited my vulnerability and called me all sorts of things when we broke up. The pet contract was the only way to make sure she wouldn't act up.
…
"Ah, you shouldn't think too much of her, Ray Gatlin. You're acting strange right now," I told myself as I closed my eyes, wanting to fall asleep quickly.
But whenever I closed my eyes, I was reminded of the open wound on Claudia's shoulder, and how she cried while slapping my cheek.
She looked so distressed and pitiful, with her left arm trembling due to her wound, and her tears continued falling and wetting the floor. I thought when I saw her in that situation, I would've laughed my shit off, because that was exactly the view I wanted from her.
But I was wrong.
