"Where did that question come from? That's just ridiculous," I asked while my brows creased instantly. I couldn't imagine myself with Clarissa—not in the past, in this life, and definitely not in my next life. "And why are you here anyway? I thought you'd stay with Aurora on the fifth floor."
She kept staring at me in silence for a while before replying, "I was worried about Lara. I heard from the doctor that Lara also woke up last night, so I thought Lara would've lied to the detective because Clarissa intimidated the poor girl. After all, I know what kind of person Clarissa is…"
"Well, Lara decided to go against her mother this time. In exchange for protection, she testified against her own mother," I confirmed. "I thought she'd be too terrified to go against Clarissa, but it seems that her desire to be free from her mother's shackles is bigger than her fear."
"She is braver than I thought," Claudia murmured. "Then, what about you, Ray?"
