I knew that I should say no, simply because we couldn't rely on Uncle Ray's generosity for so long. There would be a time for him to get bored of taking care of me and two more little girls.
Before this incident with Clarissa and Miles, I would've tried to sweet-talk her into it, fooling my daughter a little just so she wouldn't start crying.
But I realized that Aurora had transformed into a tough girl after she went into a coma, as if she matured overnight and became resilient once she woke up.
Thus, I replied calmly, "We can't do that, dear."
"But why? Uncle Ray said that his house was very empty and quiet before you lived here, Mommy. Now with Lara and me, it'd be lively and fun!"
"Hmm, let's say that one day, your Uncle will find the woman he loves, and that woman will live here with him. When that time comes, we will have to move out, got it?"
