Claudia POV
I walked right in front of his desk, and finally called his name to pull him out of his zone, "Ray…"
Ray stopped writing and lifted his head immediately. He stared at me with his emerald eyes behind the rimless glasses, and I noticed that his pupils would dilate whenever our eyes met.
Then, after his pupils dilated, there would be a slight ruddiness on his cheeks, and a thin smile, followed by the same question that he always uttered whenever we had a talk together, "Do you want me to do something, Claudia?"
That question would vary based on his mood:
'Do you want me to do something?'
'Do you need something?'
'Tell me what's on your mind. I'll help.'
'Just say it. No need to hesitate with me.'
Sometimes—no, most of the time, I felt really bad because it made me look like someone who'd only come to him if I wanted him to run an errand for me.
