: SATURDAY
Leo woke to sunlight streaming through his window and the soft buzz of his phone on the nightstand.
He reached for it, blinking sleep from his eyes.
Alex:
Good morning. Still okay for today?
Leo smiled, warmth spreading through his chest.
Leo:
Yeah. What time?
Alex:
Whenever you're ready. But I'm sending my driver to pick you up. It'll be safer.
Leo hesitated, fingers hovering over the keyboard.
Leo:
Are you sure? I can take the bus.
Alex:
I'm sure. I don't want you navigating the city alone. Let me do this.
Leo's chest tightened.
Leo:
Okay. Thank you.
Alex:
I'll text you the pickup location. See you soon.
Leo:
See you soon.
Leo set the phone down, exhaling slowly, nerves and excitement tangling in his stomach.
Today. I'm seeing him today.
He pushed the blanket aside and headed to his closet.
Leo stood in front of his mirror, adjusting his shirt for the third time.
