Chapter 10 - Glutton

Chapter 10: Glutton

"I have another idea." I said.

The ant guy just smiled in anticipation of a fight.

After all, what can a weak baby dragon and a mortal do? He was plenty confident in his skills as a god. Even now he was releasing a special pheromone that makes others prone to suggestion.

But that wasn't all it did.

"And what is this wonderful idea of yours?" He asked excitedly.

Thomas just smirked.

"In exchange for your blessing, I want five ultimate skills of my choosing, and… You won't hurt, enslave or kill another person or creature until I am dead. I will grant you my soul upon my death. I swear this as the King Progenitor and bearer of two Ultimate Skills, ONLY if you swear upon Holsteins name."

Ava and even Dredan looked at me in horror!

"Thomas don-"

"DEAL! HAHAHAHAHA! I swear on Holstein that I will never harm, kill or enslave another until you are dead! I will grant you five ultimate skills of your choosing and I will grant you my blessing! I'll see you in hell boy! HAHAHAHA!"

With that the ant guy was covered in millions of ants that helped him dissolve into a puddle of ants that ran in every direction!

'Eww, nasty.'

I had to lift up my leg as a trail of ants disappeared into the walls and floors.

"Great, now I have an ant infestation."

Ava just stared at Dredan in anger then turned to look at me with a face of pure righteous furry!

"YOU STUPID BASTARD! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU HAVE DONE?! YOUR SOUL IS FORFEIT!"

I had to cover my ears since her screaming was a little too intense.

Even Dredan was uncomfortable.

"Ava, calm down- fuck." I slapped myself on the forehead as I quickly realized I just said the two words that are forbidden in the eyes of women.

"CALM DOWN?! CALM DOWN?!"

Thanks to Ava's Ultimate Skill [Ultimate Skill: Rule Of Fire] the room was getting much hotter in here.

'Damn, I thought this only applied to her dragon breath. Don't tell me she can start forest fires just from her presence alone?'

"Hey! My books!" Dredan shouted as he looked at his library in a panic.

I just sighed for the tenth time today. Though that didn't help calm Ava down at all.

"I'M SORRY?! AM I BORING YOU?!"

...

A few minutes went by and I had finally managed to calm the two down. Though I had to calm Dredan down for an entirely different reason.

"I promise to pay you back in more books ok? I'm sure she's sorry."

"I'm not."

The two just glared at each other.

One because his books were caught on fire and the other because she was annoyed at the god for being so negligent over his friend selling his soul away to a demon god.

And yes, according to Dredan that was a demon god.

A unique brand of gods from a realm known for hosting demons and creatures straight out of your nightmares.

That only caused Ava to stress out even more.

Just as I was about to tell Ava the situation I heard a notification.

DING

[Wyrm, the god of slavery, corruption and misery has sent you a list of Ultimate Skills to choose from. Choose wisely.]

DING

[You have gained the minor blessing of Wyrm.]

[Ant will no longer attack you.]

DING

[The blessing: [King Progenitor] senses deceit. You have gained a new ability. You may hold onto stolen or gifted skills and bestow them upon others, but you can not use any skills in reserve unless you take it for yourself. {Warning: Too many Ultimate Skills engraved on the body and soul at once can result in deadly backlash.}]

[Note: Can only be used on followers with Loyalty level above 30.]

I looked at my notifications and raised my brow.

An ability like that was incredibly useful for creating a powerful image.

Now I have to look at the entire list of Ultimate Skills sent my way. There had to be at least 20-30 skills here.

I looked over at Ava and watched her from the corner of my eye and thought about how helpful she has become. Then I looked at one of the skills on the list that caught my eye.

[Ultimate Skill: I Eat And Then I Eat Some More]

[Constantly takes all the good parts of any material and integrates it into the body to create a constantly evolving perfect vessel. This can be organic, inorganic or even parts of a machine.]

"Take this one and give it to Ava."

[CONFIRMED.]

"Huh? Give what to me? WHOA!"

Ava looked at her notification and was surprised and slightly horrified, but that horror quickly turned into anger.

"Did you do this? Are you calling me fat?"

I just rolled my eyes, which was apparently not a good idea either.

[You have gained +5000 points]

Well hell yeah!

[Current points +1000]

"Huh? That's not right. Spend 1 point"

Dredan and Ava just looked at me weirdly, though Ava was more concerned about the soul situation, I needed to push that to later.

After spending the 1 point I looked at my current skill points and sighed in relief.

[Current Points: +1000 points]

'So that's how it works. Probably to avoid clutter. As for why I got 5000 points for that… Oh, it's probably because he's an ant.'

Taking that skill must be a major blow for him.

Then my eyes gleamed in excitement.

"What other skills does this guy rely on?"

I gasped in surprise!

[Ultimate Skill: Geas]

[Sign a contract with others. This contract is tied directly to the soul. If a contract is broken then the recipient who has been betrayed can take anything from the betrayer.]

I smiled in glee.

Not much of a slave god if you can't even enslave others. Then again, according to the deal we made that won't happen either way.

"Wait, why didn't I get any points from that? If I can't die then I should have gained points right?" I mumbled in confusion.

It was Dredan who helped clear things up for me.

"You're talking about your Immortality and luck related skills right? My father told me about it. It's likely because the deal is kind of up in the air. Just because a skill says something doesn't always mean it's right."

"Huh?"

Dredan clarified his thoughts as he brushed off the dust from some of his books.

"Yes, your body can't die. There is such a disturbing amount of lifeforce flowing through you that you should in theory witness the end of time. But what of your soul?"

I widened my eyes in surprise.

It's hardly a binding contract if I can still die after all.

Even Ava seemed to understand what was going on.

"So that's why you were so confident? Because your Ultimate Skill is related to immortality?"

Before I could confirm it, Dredan spoke up for me.

"To be exact, his skill is exactly that. [Immortality]."

Ava looked at me contemplating something in silence before walking away, but not before thanking me for the skill.

"I'm not a glutton by the way!"

She shouted as she left the library. I just smiled at her before turning to look at Dredan, prepared to ask him more questions about this new and inevitable enemy I have made.

"So, what skills should I take from our good friend?"

Dredan just looked at me and walked away from his book cart for once. Something he hadn't done even when being harassed by an even stronger god.

Then he smiled.

"Find [Gacha Thief], [Geas], and [Expanded World]. Taking those will really piss him off."
