Lin Yue decided to start with the inspection first, leaving the administrative work for later when her eyes were not so heavy and her patience not so thin. She collected Ben and Jack from the entrance hall, the two guards falling into step behind her as she walked toward the east wing, her footsteps echoing on the worn stone floors.
"So, Madam," Ben said as they rounded the first corner, "how many buildings are we looking at today?"
"All of them." Lin Yue replied without looking back.
Jack groaned softly. "All of them?"
"Every single one.The storage sheds, the greenhouse, the servants' quarters, the old carriage house, the stables, the guest cottages, and anything else I find along the way."
Ben exchanged a glance with Jack, his expression grim. "That could take all day, Madam."
"Then we better start now."
