Lin Yue looked at the spider again. It was large. Uncomfortably large. But it was not moving. It was just sitting there, watching them with its many tiny eyes.
"Fine.." she said. "We are done here."
She turned and walked out, Ben and Jack stumbling after her, their faces still pale, their hands still shaking.
The sunlight felt like a blessing after the darkness of the carriage house, and she stood there for a long moment, breathing in the fresh air, letting the dust settle in her lungs.
Ben leaned against the wall, his hand over his heart. "I thought I was going to die in there."
"You were not going to die.." Lin Yue said.
"You do not know that, Madam. Those bugs could have been venomous."
"They were not venomous."
"You do not know that either."
Lin Yue huffed. "We are going to need professionals for that building. I am not stepping foot in there again."
Jack nodded vigorously. "Agreed. One hundred percent agreed."
