Maya's POV
My feet barely touched the ground as I sprinted through Platinumshield Medical Center's sterile corridors, each breath burning in my lungs. The overhead lights created dizzy streaks in my vision, and the sharp scent of disinfectant twisted my already churning stomach. Whether it was morning sickness or pure terror, I couldn't tell anymore.
"Sebastian Sterling," I panted at the reception desk, gripping the counter so hard my knuckles went white. "I need to know where Sebastian Sterling is."
The nurse behind the desk moved with infuriating slowness, her fingers dancing across the keyboard while my world crumbled around me. "Room 412. Are you immediate family?"
"I'm his wife," I said, already pushing away from the desk and racing down the hallway.
Penny's heels clicked frantically behind me as she struggled to match my desperate pace. When I spotted room 412, I lunged for the handle, but a calm voice cut through my panic.
"Mrs. Sterling?"
