Solaris listened to Jon Smith's Explanation of Sin.
So it's like Nova, but different; would that mean their cores must be their souls?
Jon Smit continued to spew information that would be very helpful to Solaris if he ever ran into the Judge.
So this creature doesn't have a set form? How does that even work?
"This is only the surface of what we know about the demon; its upper bounds are completely unknown. So remember, trust must be earned before it is spent."
Solaris listened to Jon Smit's final words over and over in his head, but he couldn't quite understand what he meant by it.
"Now, you seem to have a few more questions, so go ahead and ask them, then we can start negotiations."
Jon Smit said as he clasped his hands in his lap.
As he did, the food on the table disappeared into countless shards of glass, as if it were all an illusion.
This girl's abilities don't make any sense!
Solaris grumbled internally.
Jon Smit looked at him with anticipation written on his face.
"Y-yes, sorry, I have two more questions regarding the demon: one regarding hell, and one personal, first regarding the demon, how is a human being supposed to contend with it, not just strength-wise but defensively? Second, why has the information regarding the higher ranks of demons not been sanctioned to all members of the Crimson Cross?"
Solaris asked as Jon Smit nodded along, thinking of the correct ways to word the answers.
After a moment, he spoke.
"As for the first question, the answer is simple in theory but very difficult in practice. Hunters mostly rely on the potency of their Extramicy to deal with stronger opponents, like Ember, for example. Others have abilities that allow them to grow more powerful based on certain principles, like yours truly. As for all the others. Well, you should be aware of Nova. Since you have an Extramicy and marks, there is a technique that can be implemented by understanding the flow and then wrapping and filling your organs and such with the Nova. The more you fill, the stronger they will be; if you were to say move it all into your skull and nowhere else, in theory you could have a skull immune to attack."
Jon Smit paused as if thinking of how to explain somthing.
So I would fall into the second category of strength, but mine is much more dangerous to myself than others; well, that's not true at all...
Solaris swallowed hard as he looked over the empty table.
"The third option is a lot of the time used by Micy users, such as that girl, the right arm of the gods; she took a few years to coat all of her right arm so that her ability would stop breaking it when she used it. The process of coating and filling takes a long time; however, the more one does it, the faster it gets. For example, again, the right arm of the gods took over a year to coat and fill her skin on the arm; then after that, the time was reduced enough so that it only took about eleven months to do her humerus, and that time kept dropping; now it would most likely take her a week or two to coat her other body parts."
"I see, so the more nova that fills the coating makes the part stronger, and that goes for all of the parts of the body, does that mean that my bones..."
Solaris mumbled to himself, thinking about his above-average bone strength, then his mind wandered to the entity, forcing him to stop.
"As for the second question. well lets just say this demon is too powerful and only gains more power the more its know, so only very few people are allowed to know about it."
Solaris took in the information, then opened his mouth to ask his next question.
"As for my next question... Why are you sending people to hell? I don't think it is for research."
Solaris glared at Jon Smit, expecting him to have a heartless response.
Jon Smit took some time to respond.
"Well, that's very simple; I want to find a way to kill the judge for good this time. We have countless strengths but not a single viable weakness for it."
He spoke, his face growing dark and grim as he did.
Solaris looked at his boss, his face appearing glum and desperate for a solution to his problem.
Seeing this, Solaris decided to change the topic of discussion.
"Well, for my final question, why am I the one selected for this mission? I'm a no-good murderer, with no accomplishments worth noting."
Solaris spoke with both confusion and a stern tone lacing his voice, as though he wasn't speaking his truth but the truth of what he was.
Jon Smit took a deep breath, then let out a slight chuckle.
"Well, Solaris, that is an easy question to answer. I see somthing in you; you can be somthing special, and I want to make that a reality, so I chose you. Your individual strength is good, but if I can make you into a leader, it would be better than good; it could be perfected."
Jon Smit spoke, a smile growing on his face and his eyes glaring at Solaris intently.
The words Jon Smit spoke answered Solaris's question, but he didn't understand what he meant. The words were, in a way somthing Solaris could feel making sense, but to his brain and heart, possibly even his soul, they didn't make sense.
I am nothing; why does he have hopes for me?
Jon Smit smiled at the young man before him.
This kid is somthing special, perhaps a deuteragonist to me; maybe hes a main character to a side story.
