The roar shook the entire corridor.
Not loud.
Violent.
The sound slammed through Camille's chest hard enough to make her physically stumble backward.
The tactical team immediately opened fire.
Gunshots exploded through the underground tunnel in deafening bursts.
"STOP!" Dante shouted.
Too late.
Bullets tore into Subject One's body.
The creature screamed.
Not angry.
Agonized.
Its massive body slammed backward into the wall hard enough to crack concrete while sparks erupted from the mechanical structures fused along its spine.
Camille flinched at the sight of blood splattering across the floor.
But Subject One didn't fall.
It looked down slowly at the bullets lodged inside its chest.
Confused.
Then angry.
Very angry.
Victor's horrified voice crackled through the speakers
"Oh, that was a terrible decision."
Subject One moved.
Fast.
Far too fast for something that size.
One second it stood against the wall.
The next it crashed directly into the armed team.
