Chapter 8: The One Yang Finger and Lion's Roar Technique

Su Han: "Watch carefully, Paimon. I'll only teach you once. When this divine technique is unleashed, it will either kill or maim."

Paimon's eyes sparkled as she stared at him without blinking.

Su Han took a deep breath, letting his energy sink into his dantian. His gaze sharpened as he turned toward the Hilichurls, raising his right middle finger. His voice echoed through the empty valley.

"Come at me!"

"Ya!"

The Hilichurls' eyes instantly turned red—they felt provoked. Weapons raised, they charged at Su Han with frenzied aggression.

The smile on Su Han's face froze. With a leap, he jumped down from the watchtower, shouting as he ran: "Traveler, save me!"

With the "Ride the Wind and Flee" bonus, Su Han gained an extra 50% movement speed while retreating. By controlling it deliberately, he kept the Hilichurls at a perfect, teasing distance.

Their spears couldn't reach him, their arrows flew wide—but giving up now? That was impossible.

The precarious, almost-touchable distance tricked the Hilichurls into thinking—I can catch him!

Soon, a massive Hilichurl force surged behind Su Han, charging toward Amber and the others—he had become an extremely competent MT.

Paimon stomped her feet in frustration: "Hey! Didn't you say this divine technique would either kill or maim? What's going on here?!"

Su Han: "Exactly! The divine technique did hit me—I'm either dead or dying! Amber, what are you waiting for? Come save me already!"

Amber's eyes lit up. "Perfect opportunity! Mr. Su Han, move aside!"

Normally, clearing out these Hilichurls one by one would take time. But now, with Su Han luring them together, it was the ideal chance to finish them all at once.

"Hmph hmph, watch this—arrows like rain!"

The Pyro Vision at Amber's waist flared to life. Countless flaming arrows streaked through the air like a flock of wild geese, endless and relentless, enveloping every Hilichurl in their path.

Lumine raised her blunt sword, eyes sharp, and swung forward: "Go with the wind!"

A jade-green tornado suddenly erupted in front of the Hilichurls. As it merged with the firestorm, it transformed into a swirling inferno!

The wind howled ceaselessly, slicing through and scorching the Hilichurls caught inside until every last one was consumed by flames.

Amber exhaled softly. "Phew… that was really dangerous just now, Mr. Su Han. Don't do something like that again next time."

"But I didn't expect the Traveler to not be entirely useless in combat…"

"Mr. Su Han, your… um, speed far surpasses that of many adventurers."

After this battle, Amber's impression of Su Han and his companions had improved considerably.

Paimon placed her hands on her hips, clearly upset: "Hmph! Liar! Give me back half my roasted fish!"

Su Han calmly opened his mouth: "It's in my stomach. Go fetch it yourself."

Lumine furrowed her beautifully arched brows. "Am I imagining things, or did it feel like your running speed just got even faster…?"

Su Han: "Is that so? That must mean I'm naturally gifted—a martial arts prodigy unmatched in a thousand years!"

Lumine: "Please replace 'martial arts' with 'running away.'"

Paimon tilted her head. "By the way… why are Hilichurls even here? They usually wouldn't set up camp so close to a city, right?"

Amber nodded quietly. "Yes, they should only roam the wilds."

"But recently, the Stormterror has been appearing frequently. Orchards have been destroyed, trade routes disrupted…"

"And when storms strike, people often get hurt… so the Knights have to split their attention to defend, which is why clearing out these camps is part of my mission…"

Paimon waved her hands. "No no, escorting us into the city is your mission!"

Amber: "…."

Lumine glanced at Paimon silently. Well, at least you're conscientious.

Amber cleared her throat. "Follow me! A responsible knight will escort you into Mondstadt City."

Lumine spoke up just in time: "Wait—haven't we looted the Hilichurl camp yet?"

Paimon giggled. "Heh, just as I thought—my like-minded partners think just like me."

Su Han cleared his throat, brimming with pride. "Tsk tsk, I planned this all along. Otherwise, why do you think they were chasing me?"

He patted the treasure chest in his hands. "Here, look inside!"

Paimon and Lumine silently gave him thumbs-up. This guy was ruthless.

Inside the chest was a small pouch containing roughly 1,000 Mora, a seal engraved with Anemo energy, and a dark green tail feather.

"Perfect. We'll split this three ways. The seal goes to Amber, the feather to Lumine, and I'll take the small pouch of Mora—suffering a little loss is fine."

"Hey, what about Paimon's share?"

"Later. You'll get it when there's money."

"That's not fair… grr! I'm going to give you an ugly nickname…"

"Decided. You're now Su the Skinflint!" Paimon huffed in anger.
