He let Milo go from his hold and stood up, walking several steps away from the children before he spoke in a low whisper, as if afraid Xavier might catch even a hint of betrayal in his voice. "Did something happen?"
"I don't know," Silas replied, his voice solemn and tired.
Salvar furrowed his brows at the response. His whisper sharpened into something more aggressive. "What do you mean you don't know? Your kid is in my house asking to hide from you. And you have no idea what you did?"
