Jack was standing in front of the large gates of Westbridge International University.
He just looked straight ahead for a moment. Students came from all directions. Luxury cars coming one after another clearly show the power, influence and importance of this university.
Girls with stunning figures laughing and gossiping with their friends.
This is where future business leaders, politicians, athletes and celebrities would all go to study.
A grin slowly appeared on his face.
"Freedom at last!
Without hesitation he raised both of his arms into the air like free from prison for a long time and enjoying his freedom.
Several students who were standing nearby looked at him strangely because he act so weird.
Jack didn't care about them; he was in his own world.
Today was the first day of university and day of freedom where he can enjoy his youth without any family meeting, no more worries about getting lectures about responsibility from his parents and most importantly things he hated but still he has to admit that is compared to his big brother.
The smile on his face slightly weakened things about his big brother.
Whenever people mentioned or gossip about the Smith Family there was always one name that first came to their mind.
William Smith.
His older brother, a top graduate from Westbridge International University, business genius at age of 21 he closed the deal of 2 billion by himself.
People 90% sure that the future heir of Smith is his big brother, William Smith.
His big brother was the perfect son in the eyes of his parents and they also loved him but his achievements were overshadowed by his brother's achievements.
Parents are good to him but still his dad was head of the Smith family and corporations. So, his children should have the ability and capability to manage his large empire.
Whenever Jack achieved something, people would say:
"Good job... but you should become like your big brother."
Whenever he made mistakes people always said:
"Why can't you be like your brother?"
"At least learn something from him."
At first, Jack had tried to prove that he was also the blood of the Smith family and he was also better than his brother.
He studied harder to overshadow this brother's records.
Forced himself to become someone else that he didn't want to be.
If nobody expected anything from him anyway—
Then why bother pretending?
So he started living life like he wanted to live cheerful and carefree.
Become a free spirit guy who takes everything lightly and enjoys life every moment.
The class clown everyone knows him as Carefree Young Master.
Nobody compared clowns to geniuses.
A black luxury car stopped beside him.
The car's window glass lowered and the person sitting inside the car was his older brother.
He looked at him calmly and said.
"Still standing outside?"
Jack rolled his eyes, feeling annoying by his presence.
"You came all the way here just to show off how popular you are in front me"
William ignored his comment and handed him a folded paper.
"A campus map."
Jack looked at the map and blinked.
"What?"
"You'll get lost inside the University."
"You think I am a three-year-old child. I won't get lost."
William stared at him silently.
"..."
Both of them silently stared at each other without expression change.
"..."
"...Okay, give it to me, maybe a little helpful."
His brother sighed then, surprisingly, he smiled faintly.
"Enjoy your university life."
Before Jack could reply to him, the driver drove the car away from University.
For a few seconds he stood there quietly watching from back the car disappear slowly and then he scratched his head awkwardly.
"This guy really doesn't know how to show his emotions like a normal human."
Still...
He carefully put the map into his pocket instead of throwing it away. It's safer than being sorry in the end.
Soon, he entered the campus through the gate
Ten minutes later—
He was completely lost.
"What kind of monster has designed this place?!"
'It's like a puzzle. Good thing that I didn't throw a map otherwise…' he thought.
There were large buildings,
Each department has their own library building.
There are five different directions from one entrance.
'I can't believe that I can't find the way without the map my brother gave me.' he taught.
Jack looked around desperately then he spotted a student standing nearby who also had a problem finding out the direction.
A black-haired guy observing the campus with a thoughtful expression
"It seems he also does know the way."
Jack immediately approached him.
"Hi, do you know where the auditorium hall is?"
The guy's body suddenly froze while his eyes were staring at him with strange expressions.
Jack waved his hand in front of that guy's eyes.
Nothing happened, it's like that guy was immersed in his own thoughts and he continued staring at him.
Jack frowned and blended his head a little towards him.
"Hello? Why are you zoning out?"
The student finally blinked and finally came back into reality.
"...Ah, sorry."
For some reason, Jack felt the guy had just recognized him.
Strange that they really met before but in reality they had never met before.
Then the student asked:
"You know the direction?"
Jack proudly pulled out his map to flex in front of him but inside he felt shyness and didn't believe that in the end he had to rely on his brother.
"My brother gave me this."
The next moment, a brilliant thought entered his mind.
First day.
University.
Thousands of students.
Including countless beautiful girls present from different families he is able to find out his own love story in University like 'Drama or romance novel' it feels thrilling.
His eyes widened.
Then he started running.
"Hurry up!"
"If we miss the front-row seats, we won't be able to properly see the beautiful women!"
Behind him, he heard the other student sigh deeply.
Jack laughed.
For some reason, talking with this guy felt comfortable.
He entered the auditorium hall and Claire started her speech. He was sleeping while listening to her speech.
'I prefer to watch cartoons more than listening to this boring speech,'he thought.
After the speech ended he saw something happened and a lot of students gathered in one place. He noticed that boy he met outside of the auditorium.
Maybe—
A genuine friendship was possible here to meet next time.
His thoughts drifted toward the strange black-haired student he met earlier.
Ryan Carter.
The name sounded ordinary.
But somehow, Jack had a feeling.
His university life was about to become far more interesting because of him.
A grin appeared on Jack's face.
"I think I've made my first friend."
Far away Ryan suddenly sneezed.
Jack laughed loudly.
His first day at Westbridge had only just begun and it has been a long journey.
