Chapter 95 - Chapter 95-Friendly Neighborhood Begins

[+70 Heroic Points for killing members of an evil organization]

 [Total Heroic Points: 710]

Suddenly, the system notification interrupted Jack's thoughts.

"Mm, I'm nearly close to unlocking the next alien. With the extra points I gained from this fight, I only need 90 more," he thought. Seeing the numbers always made him excited — no matter how many times it happened, it still made him happy.

"Do you suspect anyone who attacked us?" Natasha asked as the backup she called arrived.

Hearing her question, Jack was already certain HYDRA was behind the attack.

Should I tell her?

Earlier, during his first meeting with Fury, he had already hinted that he knew more about S.H.I.E.L.D. than he should. Fury probably suspected traitors existed inside the organization by now.

Still, this felt too early.

The Avengers hadn't even formed yet, and if Fury pushed too hard, HYDRA might start moving sooner than expected. An organization that had survived for decades wouldn't go down quietly.

And this world wasn't exactly the MCU he remembered anymore. There were many things different, so who knows what else HYDRA had done since. With just a little clue, they had already created weapons against Diamondhead. Who knows what else they had as a trump card?

"I don't know. I think it's your enemy." He picked up his bag containing the Vibranium.

As he turned to leave, he glanced back at her. "You can contact me if you find out who attacked us." Then he left.

"Alright, boys, clean the place up and send me a detailed report on everything you find," she ordered the agents who had arrived.

"Red Queen, it's been three days since George was attacked. We still can't find any clue about where Sin-Eater is."

Jack had just finished his dojo training after school and was lying in his hideout, exhausted from a hard session of training with his alien powers.

"Master, that fellow got scared after the recent police investigation and hasn't attacked anyone since. He's gone into hiding, so we have no leads to locate him right now," Red Queen said with frustration.

"If any other transmigrator knew I couldn't find a single killer even with the Omnitrix, they'd definitely laugh at me."

"Master, don't worry. The moment I find anything, I'll inform you immediately. I'm monitoring New York very carefully now."

After a brief pause, Red Queen spoke again.

"But Master, didn't you say Sin-Eater appeared in comics from your previous life? Can't you remember anything about his identity?"

Jack sighed.

"If I had actually read comics focused on that guy, finding him would've been easy. But I didn't."

He rubbed his forehead tiredly.

"And after living in this world for eighteen years, reincarnation blurred a lot of my old memories. Some things are impossible to remember clearly… even with Grey Matter."

Feeling like there was nothing more he could do, he got ready for his usual night hero routine.

"MASTER. Master!"

"What? Why are you so excited?" he asked, hearing Red Queen's sudden outburst.

"Didn't you tell me to keep an eye on Gwen and Peter? They just left their rooms through the windows — both in spider costumes."

Hearing that, Jack pulled up the footage she had captured. Both of them.

"How did they both end up starting their hero lives on the same day?" he muttered. He thought about Peter, who had been distracted at school ever since George got hurt.

It seems George's injury pushed Peter to become Spider-Man sooner than expected.

"These two don't have the skill to avoid cameras. At this rate, some organization will figure out their identities." Seeing how easily the cameras were picking them up, he ordered Red Queen to handle it.

"Red, always keep an eye on them. Delete or modify any footage that could be used to track their identities."

"Yes, Master," Red Queen replied with a sharp, military tone.

"Red Queen, show me where Gwen is. Let's see how she does on her first day." He left the hideout in his plumber suit shortly after.

Hell's Kitchen, New York

"Kyaaah!"

A terrified scream echoed through a dark alley.

People on the nearby street heard it — but instead of checking what happened, several hurried away. In Hell's Kitchen, smart people minded their own business.

"Shh… shut your mouth!" the robber hissed, pressing a knife toward the teenage girl. His face was hidden behind a black ski mask. "Hand over your money!"

"I-I don't have any…" the girl stuttered, trembling.

"Who are you trying to fool?" the robber snapped. "Fancy clothes, makeup, expensive bag… and you're telling me you're broke?"

He yanked the handbag from her hands and opened it.

"…Lipstick."

He dug deeper.

"Perfume… mirror… more lipstick…"

The robber froze, visibly confused.

"What kind of bag is this?!"

The girl weakly raised a hand. "A makeup bag…"

For a brief moment, the alley went completely silent.

"Are you kidding me." Seeing he couldn't make any profit, he got angry — but then his eyes drifted to the girl's face.

"You're pretty though. Why don't you spend some time with me?" Hearing that, the girl tried to run.

The robber grabbed her. "Help! Help!"

"Girl, this is Hell's Kitchen," he said as she screamed. "No hero's coming to save you."

"Oh really?"

A woman's voice came from above.

The robber looked up and saw a girl in a costume — white, black, and pink — crouched against the wall.

"Who are you?"

The robber took an uneasy step back.

Gwen shot a web and snatched the knife clean out of his hand before he could do anything with it.

"Ghost!" He turned and sprinted towards the exit.

Gwen snapped her wrist. Webbing shot across the alley and wrapped around his legs mid-step. The robber crashed face-first into the wet pavement.

As she landed beside him, the streetlight finally revealed her clearly.

The robber blinked twice.

"Oh… you're actually a person."

His fear faded surprisingly fast. A crooked grin spread across his face.

"Wow… nice legs."

"You talk too much." Gwen wrapped webbing around his mouth and wrists in one quick motion.

"Mmmph?!" The robber's angry protest came out completely muffled.

She turned to the girl. "You okay?"

"I'm fine. Thank you for saving me."

"Don't wander around this area at night. It's not safe." After giving the girl a few quick instructions, Spider-Woman left with the robber to hand him over to the police.

But at the same time, Peter's luck wasn't as good. Just a few streets away from Gwen, he had already run into a tough guy on his very first day out.

"Hey, buddy, I said stop the fight — not attack me."

As Spider-Man leaped away, countless daggers slammed into the area simultaneously.
