Noticing this, Reiji quickly pulled out his katana that was on his back and swung but before he could hit the man his wrist was stopped by the man's hand. Now one was holding Reiji's wrist and the other his leg.
What's this guy's deal?! Sometimes he's immovable and other times we're equal in strength. When he pushed me to the ground, he was vulnerable and remained that way shortly after but then he grew weak but tough. Now he's strong again.
"What the hell are you waiting for?!"
The man screamed, holding Reiji still. Then it clicked, the man wouldn't attack because she was supposed to take him out.
Her life force stayed the same, not attacking but being ready. It was like she was teasing him.
Reiji was looking over his shoulder this whole time, looking down at the man. He turned his head and looked at the woman, seeing that she was smiling.
Reiji stared at her for a moment before he was snapped out his thoughts by the man's voice.
"Come on!"
Reiji then realized his arm and leg were free.
He reached for the knife in his obi and pulled it out, intending to stab the man.
Reiji's wrist was stopped by the man's other hand but now his legs were free.
Pulling his arms together in front of himself, he pressed his right boot against the man's chest, slowly pulling free with great strain.
Reiji's theory about the man's ability was correct and that's why he let out a pained cry.
The forces acting on his body would either cause his chest to cave in from Reiji's boot or for his arms to hyper extend.
Then the man's voice started speaking.
"Flesh and bone, agh! Steel and blood…may, agh! May my body become unyielding like…"
Just before he could finish his words Reiji pressed his foot harder against the man's chest and used all his might to push his arms together, letting out a scream.
Because of this, the man stopped talking because he couldn't breathe much less talk.
Reiji then remembered that messing with the man's life force was an option but he would have to grab him with his hands or touch him with his feet.
I…need to take this guy out of the picture.
He focused his life force into his foot, trying to establish a connection through his boot, the man's cloak and whatever he was wearing underneath it.
This, however, meant that his life force in the other parts of his body got less dense, weakening him.
This allowed the man to actually start pulling Reiji's arms back.
"Grr! Come on. Come on!"
Reiji screamed as he desperately tried to establish a connection with the man's life force.
Who knows what happens when he finishes his words?
Reiji thought but before anything could happen, before any unexpected turn of events or a break in the stale mate, the woman spoke.
"That, which gives me breath…"
The woman began in a whispery tone.
"..., which is the seed of life…"
Her voice slowly got louder and louder throughout her talking, already loud enough that it was hurting Reiji's and the man's ears.
"...may my enemies tremble before your might."
That last part was loud enough that Reiji couldn't hear anything, not even ringing in his ears, just deaf. Then he felt it.
Life force in the shape of a dragon, a massive invisible dragon floating above them, looking at Reiji.
It's like the air itself is alive.
Reiji and the man stared in awe, not pushing or pulling against each other anymore. The man stared at the woman with panic before letting go of Reiji's wrists and pulling back.
Coming back to his senses, except his hearing, Reiji dropped the survival knife, turned and grabbed the man by the cloak with his left hand, failing to sheath his katana in the process.
He felt the life force change, that dragon was descending. The man pushed against Reiji's elbow, freeing himself from Reiji's grip.
Reiji dropped the katana and grabbed the man with his right hand, pulling him closer and bending his elbow slightly and grabbed him with the other hand as well.
Reiji would have grinned when he saw that the man's jaw trembled, but he was just as panicked by the dragon that was about to swallow them.
"Nothing personal, Erik."
The woman said with a smile, not that they heard.
The dragon opened its mouth and before it could swallow them, the man, Erik, whispered.
"...the sun."
He said, finishing what he would say if Reiji never stopped him from finishing his words.
Then the wind dragon seemingly swallowed them. They were in its mouth but could see through it, since it was made out of air.
Reiji let go of Erik as the dragon started to ascend into the sky. The air that formed the dragon was as solid as a wall.
Reiji's ears started ringing and now he didn't even know where he was, the mouth? Already in the stomach? He was just tumbling through its body, randomly hitting solid parts.
He extended his limbs and pressed against any hard piece of air he could find, taking a moment to breathe with closed eyes.
His arms were exhausted and so were his legs. He was hungry, wet, cold, thirsty and didn't have any other weapons than his fists.
Sighing, he half opened his eyes.
Funny how we are stuck in a dragon made out of solid air yet the wind is still blowing inside of it. This sucks.
Reiji spotted Erik a good distance from him, seemingly in a different body part.
His hood was fully off, having a nervous yet enraged expression. He also had very short hair. Reiji closed his eyes.
Damn it, what is that bitch thinking?!
Erik thought to himself and then spotted Reiji, moving to close the distance.
I'll kill him first, then I'll kill her and say it was all an accident.
Erik navigated through the dragon's invisible body like it was a maze. Its body structure was really confusing.
Diana always made her dragons hollow but it feels like this one is only partially hollow.
He finally made it over to Reiji, who was keeping himself still by pressing against the dragon's insides with a calm expression.
"YOU'RE DEAD!"
Erik screamed before throwing a punch straight at Reiji's face.
