As they enter its mouth Silas Thorne turns and shoots the barrels. They blow up, the shockwave sending them deeper into the Kraken.
They flew past the Radula and Reiji Kurozuma then noticed something strange.
This thing…its life force is almost evenly spread across its entire body. But I see it, we're going to go through a life force dense area before we are digested.
"Hey! Be ready to slow down when I say!"
Reiji screamed. Silas, however, gave Reiji a disappointed look. It was as if Reiji was a child and did something Silas told him not to do.
"How you have disappointed me!"
Silas yelled back. Reiji was not happy about his answer but ignoring him, he stabbed his katana into its body, hoping it would slow him down enough.
But the tissue was softer than expected and Reiji's plan went down the drain while Silas laughed as he went deeper inside of the Kraken, slightly ahead of Reiji.
"Tch."
Reiji made an annoyed sound as his body stopped flying through the tube-like structure that led to the stomach and hit it, now sliding through it as his katana did nothing to slow him down. Knowing his knife wouldn't help much, he put it away and turned towards his katana instead and pulled it closer. He shoved his left arm down the deep cut his katana had made.
When he pulled out his sword, his left arm stopped his descent. Silas had now disappeared into the darkness of the Kraken's body. It was pretty damn dark now that Reiji noticed, since he knew where he was because of his ability to sense life force.
It's descenting into the ocean. I need to go up as fast as possible.
He stabbed the katana into the Kraken again but now the dull edge faced gravity's pull so it wouldn't slice through the tissue when Reiji used it to climb up.
He finally made it up a few cords (One cord is about the length of a rope throw.) before he used his katana as support so he could stand up.
That should be the brain. Its life force is concentrated here but not as much as it should be. Messing with this place should at the very least screw it up pretty bad.
Reiji jumped up and slashed the tissue that was above him, cutting into the concentrated area. He managed to shove his left hand into the cut, not falling down.
He stabbed his katana into it and linked his life force with the Kraken's, making its life force fade, the area around the cut becoming a dead zone.
This thing is too big to finish off at once.
Reiji just stared at the cut for a moment before sighing and cutting into it again, making it big enough for Reiji to shove his upper body inside. After cutting it a few more times he fully crawled into it.
I just realized I don't have to stab it anymore actually. With no object to obstruct my hands, I can mess with it directly.
He sheathed his katana and linked his life force with the Kraken's, slowly killing its brain. After most of its brain was now dead so Reiji pulled his life force back into his body.
When most of it returned he went from being half asleep to being fully awake. He then unsheathed his katana and cut through the dead parts to get closer to the living parts of its brain until it was fully dead.
But now there was a problem, no oxygen. Reiji could barely breathe. Over in the Kraken's stomach, Silas Throne plopped down into its digestive fluid a few moments earlier. He floated there with his eyes closed for a moment in total darkness.
After a moment it dawned on him. Every creature's weight was largely composed of water. He tried attacking the Kraken but never tried extracting water from it. He focused, ignoring the burning his closed eyes suffered.
This infuriating creature! Not every part of you can be this resistant to water magic!
Silas swimmed through the fluid and randomly cut around him before swimming a small distance and repeating this again. After some time he managed to cut some tissue, making blood pour out. And sure enough, he was able to form a ball of water in his palm by using the water from the blood.
Silas slashed again and again. Once he had a ball of water the size of his body he used a part of it to cover himself in a layer of water as protection from the digestive fluid.
The water that was under his control then entered the Kraken's blood stream and tore apart everything it came into contact with except thick muscles.
He then extracted water from the spilled blood and the tissue that wasn't resistant to water magic. Every living part around him except the water resistant parts shriveled up.
After a moment of thought he decided to cut himself out of its body. After what felt like forever of using his cutlass and water he finally made the final cut that got him out of its body, a body that was sinking rapidly.
It seems very still, has it died from me and Reiji? Lucky for me, there's plenty of still water here underneath the waves.
The ocean then shifted, the calm water started moving and the descent of the Kraken was stopped before its body started to rise up.
This fast change in motions jerked with the entire body, startling Reiji and waking him up before he went unconscious. Even though he should have minimal oxygen, Reiji felt as though he'd been without it for seconds, not minutes.
He let his spit drip out of his mouth and went in the opposite direction it fell, meaning he was going up. He unsheathed his katana, quickly cutting through its brain and after a few moments he was jerked up before he was brought back down again hard.
Reiji didn't let this stop him and made the final cut that let sunlight shine upon him. He pulled his upper body out and took a deep breath. The storm was gone.
He sheathed his katana. He then found himself in a crushing choke hold.
"Fate must wait. I have orders, you know?"
Silas said as he choked Reiji. Reiji struggled for a moment before he struck Silas with his elbow and grabbed his head, pushing it down against his shoulder.
He then screamed before he delivered a few more elbows and pried Silas off of him, quickly crawling out of the Kraken and punched Silas down.
"Fate isn't waiting for anything, Silas!"
