Five minutes later, the three of them were sitting on the edge of Pirra's bed in a row, and Katarina was in the middle.
She had no idea how she'd ended up in the middle. There had been a scramble, a blanket, some shrieking, and Ludo relocating to give Pirra privacy by moving four feet, and somehow the seating had resolved with the Signora of Vellasera between a half-dressed elf and the woman who'd just been balls-deep in her.
Pirra was wrapped in the blanket up to her chin with her braid destroyed. Ludo had buttoned her shirt three-quarters of the way, which for Ludo counted as formal wear.
Nobody had spoken for a while. Katarina, personally, was having a wonderful time.
"So," she said. "You two are still together. That's nice. I always thought you were good for each other."
Ludo went to pick up the rest of her clothes and stood up.
