Qingyi Valley,
Before the dilapidated Mountain Gate,
A burly youth dressed in a simple, white short-sleeved robe looked up at the decaying Mountain Gate before him; on its plaque, the three characters for " Eternal God Sect" were faintly visible.
He looked stunned, his face full of shock.
Li Yunjin, the old man remained expressionless. "You are still young; there is much you don't understand."
"This sect may look dilapidated mountain, not as you have imagined but remember it in your mind a mountain need not be high; if there is an immortal, it will be famous. You should take your time to contemplate this truth."
"Follow this Sect Leader into the mountain and enter the Eternal God Sect."
Li Yunjin stepped forward.
The small lad looked at Li Yunjin's back.
He fell into deep thought.
"A mountain need not be high; if there is an immortal, it will be famous..."
The young boy in white savored the words.
Seeing that the old man sect leader Li Yunjin had already crossed the Mountain Gate and entered the valley. The young boy finally snapped out of it and hurriedly followed.
The young boy is just around in his teen age named, Lie jun and was recruited by the old man saying he has immortal luck and was destined to meet him.
In early age, he was always mocked by other villagers, relatives and friends because of his name.
Hearing as such he decided to follow the old man as his disciple and came to know that the old man in front of him was the sect master of a sect.
And he was feeling he was in a cloud nine already, but now seeing the condition of the mountain gate his imagination which were going wild has come to a halt, and now he was already regretting his impulsive decision.
He didn't have a family as such, as his parents died in a famine some years ago and he was the only person left.
He barely made to live for this long because of him coming to a city where he served as a waiter for some food and shelter.
Knowing fully well of the cold and harsh realities of the world intricacies he thought he was finally going to jump the gate to transform from crap into dragon but now it seems to be a pipedream.
After passing through the Mountain Gate, they continued walking for a while.
The view suddenly opened up, and the scene within the valley was revealed to Lei jun.
"This..."
Lei jun was even more shocked.
The valley was quite large, with a stream running through it.
There were several buildings in the distance.
However, these buildings were quite old, or to say have already been considered as grounded.
The sharp-eyed Lei jun even noticed that more than half of the tiles were missing from one of the larger buildings.

Lei jun hesitated.
This scene was completely different from what he had imagined.
Don't the storytellers always say that immortal Sects sit high above the clouds with clusters of palaces?
Why was the storytellers Sect so different from the descriptions in the storybooks?

Fortunately, after hesitating for a moment, Lei jun still followed.
They arrived in front of several buildings.Each building had a plaque displaying its name.
Li Yunjin stood before a building named the Ancestral Master Hall, waiting for Lei Jun.
Once Lei Jun. stepped forward, Li Yunjin spoke with a calm expression:
"Think carefully. Once you enter the Ancestral hall you will be considered as Eternal God Sect Disciple."
"If you want to go back on your word, you will be a traitor. The Sect never shows mercy to traitors."
Lei jun hesitated at first, but his expression gradually became firm.
"In response to the Sect Leader, this Disciple has thought it through. I am willing to become the Sect Disciple."
Li Yunjin raised an eyebrow and glanced at Lei Jun.
They entered the Ancestral Master Hall. The scene inside the Ancestral Master Hall was bleak. Several memorial tablets, each damaged to varying degrees, were placed on the altar.
Some were missing a corner, others only had half left... a layer of dust had already covered the altar.
The several hanging portraits of the Ancestral Masters were also blurred and unclear. The offering table in front was tilted at one corner, propped up by a stone.
The best thing there was the incense burner on the offering table.
It was old but looked relatively new.Sect leader, Li Yunjin took three sticks of incense,
lit them, and inserted them into the incense burner.
"Ancestral Masters of the Eternal God Sect above, today the Disciple Lei Jun sincerely joins the Eternal God Sect to enter the Dao and Cultivate the truth."
"I hope the Ancestors will protect him, so that he may strictly observe the Sect's rules, Cultivate diligently without ceasing, and bring glory to the Sect."
Li Yunjin bowed three times, then turned to look at Lei jun.
"Kneel and kowtow." Lei jun immediately complied.
He knelt on both knees and kowtowed several times toward the memorial tablets and portraits.
"Mm. From this day forward, you are an Outer Sect Disciple of the Eternal God Sect."
Li Yunjin gestured for Lei jun to rise. Lei jun stood up, joy appearing in his eyes. Now, he had finally joined a Sect and had a hope for longevity.
"Walk around the Eternal God Sect first to familiarize yourself with the environment. Afterward, this Sect Leader will pass on the methods of the Dao to you."
Li Yunjin waved his hand at Lei jun.
Lei jun nodded and bowed, saying, "Yes, Sect Leader."
Once Lei jun had left. Li Yunjin shouted in his heart."The Sect's prosperity is now in the hands of the younger generation."
Li Yunjin clenched his hands, feeling very turbulent but let go, a few decades ago he also had the same vigor after he joined the sect. He thought that he will be like many cultivators will fly and travel across the world.
But the reality was harsh as hell. He was the only disciple of his late master and even with all his masters efforts put on him he only reached the late stage of qi refining stage.
Though he might appear mighty to mortals but in cultivation world he was just an ant for any powerful cultivator.
In this world the cultivation is as body refining, which includes skin refining, bone forging, blood, tendons reforming and meridian opening, which is called mortal realms.
Then comes true realms, such as true element, qi refining, qi sea formation, qi wheel, true yuan realm, spirit integration realm and transformation god realm.
The name of the sect also came as such because according to sect's important texts which were passed down from generations to the sect leaders that at the peak of the sect there were two transformation god realm masters governing the sect.
Then comes upper realms such as, soul formation realm, cave heaven realm, void shattering realm, dao source realm, dao palace realm, nirvana, and saint, etc.
He knows that he don't have any chance to go any higher as he don't have much time left. So he finally decided to go out to look for a successor to pass on the lineage so that he wouldn't have to become the sinner to end the sect linage.
After the old sect leader came out he saw Lei jun standing outside the ancestral hall, like expecting something and he knows what it is. So he waived to him and called him out.
"Take this Cultivation Technique and try to comprehend it yourself first." He pulled a booklet from his robes and handed it to Lei jun
The three characters " Fire Spirit Art" on the booklet made Lei Jun's heart tremble. He had finally obtained the long-coveted method of cultivating the Dao.
"Thank you, Sect Leader." Lei jun thanked him immediately.Then, he took the Fire Spirit Art to the side to study it carefully.
Li Yunjin knew that Lei jun was literate. Lei jun had put in a lot of effort in his pursuit of the Dao. Naturally, he hadn't neglected learning how to read.
Then he sighed and said to himself, ' now it all depends on you, younger generation.'
He knows the boy possess cultivation talent as for what kind he didn't knew because the clan treasure for detecting such things have long been lost or has become useless.
The whole sect is in shable as for the only few things he has as a sect leader is the sect leader token which was once also the array key of the sect grand array.
The other things are some low level techniques and few cultivation manuals in the storage bag.
The rest are just some building around the sect hall and only sect hall is barely maintained by now.
In the next few days, the old man tried his best to teach Lei Jun about the intricacies of cultivation techniques and also the importance of cultivating body.
When they got time Lei Jun use the time to restore the building around the sect hall. He also built his own room around the periphery of the spirit fields.
