Kai retreated as he evaporated the poison that got into his hand with mana.
Behind him, Allan was still coughing and choking.
His throat felt like it was on fire, and the inflammation caused by whatever he drank made it harder and harder for him to swallow or even breathe. "What did you make me drink?" Allan asked; his voice was way lighter and more restrained than earlier. "Tell me!"
"It's poison," Kai replied nonchalantly as he turned to face Allan again.
"P-Poison…?"
"Yes. A contact poison, to be exact, so the symptoms and effects would take over you faster—since you drank it. Even with the natural regeneration of a Supernal, you wouldn't be able to survive it."
"W-Why? Who even are you?!"
"Who I am doesn't matter. But what does matter is the decision you're going to make."
Poisoning someone didn't even make him bat an eye, even though this pretty body wasn't, in any way, directly involved with Spissos. He was a victim of the circumstance, but Kai decided to use him.
