Chapter 166 - Chapter 166: The Devils' Code

The fear of the "Devils" made criminals afraid of retribution, so small and even large gangs and organized crime groups fell apart on their own. There were far fewer maniacs and rapists, so now the "Devils" were mainly occupied with raising the new generation.

But a few months ago, one of the groups accidentally obtained information about an island where representatives of the elite from various countries gathered.

Ray thought for a long time about what to do with the compromising material they had received. If played correctly, it should ease the path to the political Olympus for his "Devils."

Besides making plans, Ray was busy creating a code for future generations. Right now, he really wanted to be with Miku and their future child, but Ray knew that what he was doing now would help them retire and achieve their main goal. So the man suppressed his urges.

Taking a break from her studies, Deya didn't think she'd be able to make many friends, but thanks to her brother, who had become a public figure with a good reputation, many people knew him, even among her peers. The scar on her face certainly put obstacles in her way, but Deya knew how to hold her own, and despite it, she had her own social circle.

When one of her friends invited her to a lecture by a young girl with a talent for physics, she agreed, even though she was far from that field.

One reason was that her brother was gathering talents in various fields for his company's projects.

When the young girl took the stage, by the end of the speech, Deya realized this was exactly what they needed. Leaving her friends, she decided to intercept the girl to talk.

Following her, she witnessed a man trying to kill the girl. There was no time to think — Deya, with practiced ease, drew her gun and shot him. The fact that the gun had a silencer saved Deya from extra trouble.

The girl, who had nearly become a murder victim, turned pale. Deya knew she had no time for reflection. Picking up the shell casing and quickly finding the bullet, she wondered whether she should get acquainted with the girl under these circumstances. But seeing her condition, she approached and extended her hand.

Accepting it, the girl stood up and followed Deya, seemingly still in shock.

Deya had her own house, though she preferred to live in the dormitory. It was to this house that she brought the girl.

Seeing that the guest was still in shock, Deya took her to the shower, helping her undress. She couldn't deny that the girl had something to show. If Deya were a lesbian, this girl could have won her over, but she wasn't.

In the shower, the girl began to come to her senses. When they finished and went to the living room, the girl, wrapped in a towel, looked at Deya and asked:

"Aren't you afraid I might tell the police?"

"You won't. I don't know who that man was, but if not for me, he would have killed you. Even if I overestimated your intelligence and you do it, given my age and my brother's connections, I'll be fine — not without problems, but still. And you'll make new enemies; believe me, you don't need that."

As she said these words, Deya took out a can of beer and handed it to the guest:

"Here, I think you need to relieve some stress."

Taking it, the girl asked:

"Won't you join me?"

"No, I have a complete aversion to alcohol."

"For someone who says that, it's strange to have beer in the fridge," Kurisu said with a smirk.

"It's not for me, it's for unexpected guests. I'm not your mommy, so I'm not going to stop you," Deya joked, and added: "My name is Deya Evans, nice to meet you, Sister Kurisu."

"You just killed a man, and apparently it doesn't bother you. From what I can see, you're a very dangerous little one."

"I just saved a person, so yes, it doesn't bother me. Besides, you're much prettier than that old man."

"That old man was my father," Kurisu said with a smirk.

"I could say I'm sorry, but I don't like lying when it's not necessary," Deya said.

"Right, don't. Honestly, my old man was quite a bastard."

"I don't know who my old man was — I'm from a test tube. Sometimes I think it's even good that I don't know him. I came to offer you a job. The company my brother works for is looking for talent in various fields, so if you're interested, you could give it a try."

"I know who you are, and I admire how you live despite your scar. As for your offer, I'll think about it. But what are you doing in Japan?"

"I came to study art."

"Unexpected, but don't worry, I won't tell anyone what I saw. And thank you for your help."
