"You heard that?" Logan asked with a smile.
"Now go" he added, making the girl run off without looking back.
Logan kept his eyes on her retreating figure until she was out of sight.
"She has a nice butt" he muttered.
"She's a damn junior," Dacio said flatly.
"They're the sweetest," Logan replied, turning to look at us, which made me lower my head immediately.
"So, dude… what's going on here?" he asked.
I slowly disengaged myself from Cassius's arm.
Of course, it was time for me to leave already.
Enough scenes for one day. Unless I wanted another one to erupt from these three notorious friends.
Cassius looked down at me.
When our eyes met, I quickly looked away.
His eyes were so hot… and sexy.
My cheeks were already burning from embarrassment, okay, maybe shyness.
Cassius noticed it. Of course he did. His eyes never left my face.
"What the fuck," Logan scoffed mockingly.
He had clearly seen my red face. That shameless thing!
Don't say it out loud, Mary… or you're dead meat.
"Thanks for today," I said awkwardly. That was the only thing I could get myself to say. What else was I supposed to say?
"You're going to the cafeteria, right?" Cassius asked calmly.
I nodded, wondering why he asked.
"Let's go together."
Before I could even react, he grabbed my hand and started walking away, leaving his friends behind.I was shocked,What the hell is going on?
Maybe… maybe I'm really dreaming this time.
"What the fuck, Dacio? What's he doing with that chubby pig?" Logan asked.
Dacio simply shook his head.
"So dude ditched us for a mere elephant."
Dacio shook his head again and started walking away.
"Wait. You described her as an elephant. That's so mean of you. Elephants are bigger than pigs," Logan said, following him.
"You're the one who's mean for calling her a pig," Dacio retorted.
Logan frowned in confusion. "How?"
"Pigs are dirty. Elephants aren't," Dacio replied calmly.
"Oh, I see…" Logan nodded slowly. "Okay, here's what will happen. I'll call her pig, and you call her elephant. Deal?"
"Deal."
"I can't wait to dig that girl's hole," Logan said, already thinking about the egg girl.
"Congratulations," Dacio muttered, quickening his steps.
CAFETERIA-
All eyes were on me.I hated this attention.
You won't believe it,Cassius brought lunch snacks for both of us.
I still couldn't believe that bad guys could be this… lovely and romantic.
Yes. Romantic. That's what I would call it.
No one had ever done something like this for me before. This whole thing was completely new to me.
Gosh… I felt like I was dreaming.
Someone should wake me up from this dream. Wait—what am I saying?Nobody should wake me up.
I want to keep dreaming, because this dream feels so sweet… and romantic.
"What's your name?" Cassius's voice suddenly broke through my thoughts.
"Huh?" I blinked.
"Your name," he repeated calmly, his eyes still fixed on my face.
"Mary," I replied.
"Mary…" he hummed softly, nodding.
This might sound stupid, but hearing my name from his lips sounded… nice.
Gosh. I'm really losing it.
"Nice name," he said quietly.
"Thank you." I smiled shyly.
"You already know mine?" he asked.
"Who doesn't know you?" I muttered, almost rolling my eyes.He simply smiled.
"I want to ask you something," I said, gaining his full attention.
I lowered my gaze and began slowly playing with my hamburger.
"Why did you help me?" I asked, still not looking at him.
I could feel his eyes on me.
"Oh… look at me," he said.
I swallowed nervously and raised my head.
When our eyes met, he smiled.
"Because you're a nice and good person Mary."
The way he said my name made it sound like we had known each other for years.
"But I thought…"
"That I'm a bad guy? And bad guys aren't known for being good to people?" he finished for me.
I lowered my gaze again.
"Being bad doesn't stop someone from doing good," he said, taking a sip of his juice. "Being bad just makes someone strong and fearless… not heartless."
I thought over his words. They sounded simple, yet somehow difficult to understand.
How could being bad make someone strong?
"Do you understand?" he asked when he noticed my confused expression.
"Huh?… Yeah, I do," I lied, giving him a soft smile.
"You're bad and also intelligent, Cassius. I admire your literacy and knowledge," I complimented.
He grinned widely.
"Thank you, Your Majesty," he said, bowing slightly.I laughed.
"I'm not Your Majesty."
"Of course you are. Every woman is a queen… 'Your Majesty,'" he replied.
I smiled, blushing slightly. He was already giving me butterflies. Every word from his lips sent a swarm of them into my stomach.
"Okay then… if you say so, Your Majesty," I teased with a small smirk. He laughed.
"Every man is a king," I added quickly before he could speak again. His laughter grew louder.
The entire cafeteria was staring at us. I knew their nosy mouths were already gossiping.
But none of them dared to say anything out loud.
Not when Cassius the bad boy—was sitting right there.
I wanted to talk to him about Nova.Even though I had this strange feelings for him, I was still the same naive, good girl who didn't wish anyone harm.
The way he treated Nova earlier was unfair. No matter what she did, she was still his girlfriend.
I opened my mouth to say something about it.
But the next words that came from him nearly burst my bubble.
"You're really nice to be with," he said gently.
His eyes were locked on mine.
"Can we be good friends, Mary?"
