Chapter 87 - Chapter 87

"Roar!!!!"

The moment Subject No. 1 entered Subject No. 3's containment chamber, Subject No. 3, whose hearing was already extremely sharp, immediately sensed that he had stepped into her attack range and let out a massive roar.

Her flexible neck twisted a full one hundred and eighty degrees. With a savage expression and a pair of scarlet eyes locked onto Subject No. 1, she shot to her feet in an instant. Then, with claws several centimeters long, she lunged forward in a single explosive burst and landed directly on Subject No. 1's body. After letting out another furious roar, she began tearing at him wildly, like someone flinging sand by the handful.

In an instant, flesh and blood flew everywhere inside the containment chamber, and Subject No. 1's enraged roar exploded through the room.

Everyone watched as Subject No. 3 ripped several massive gashes across Subject No. 1's chest with her claws, only to be seized by his enormous arm in the next second. He clamped down on her body, then slammed her straight into the ground with a violent crash.

He did not even bother picking up the toy he had dropped.

Instead, he raised a huge foot and tried to stomp down on her.

But the moment she broke free, Subject No. 3 snapped her head up. Before anyone could clearly follow the movement, her body blurred and reappeared on Subject No. 1's chest. Then she began clawing frantically toward his heart.

It was almost like a woman abandoned by a heartless lover, gone mad and determined to find out what color his heart really was.

And from that point on, the two of them fell into a constant back-and-forth struggle.

Subject No. 1 relied on his terrifying durability and absurd regenerative speed. Most of the time, before Subject No. 3 could even dig halfway to his heart, his giant hand would close around her again and fling her away.

Subject No. 3, meanwhile, depended on her incredible agility. As long as Subject No. 1 did not hold her down in an iron grip, she could always slip free, climb back onto his chest, and carve another giant hole into him.

This ridiculous spectacle went on for over half an hour.

By the end, even Subject No. 2 seemed tired of watching. He turned his head aside and shifted his attention to the researchers, who were watching the two test subjects fight with obvious fascination.

But as his gaze moved from one person to another, it eventually stopped on a tall man in a sharp suit standing beside the man in military uniform.

That man was looking at him with equal interest.

And for some reason, a single word surfaced in Subject No. 2's mind.

Observe.

He still did not understand what the word meant.

But instinct told him to avoid that man's eyes.

At that moment, Killian was the one who had just exchanged that glance with Subject No. 2.

Compared with the extraordinary physical strength of Subject No. 1 and the astonishing agility of Subject No. 3, Killian realized that Subject No. 2's display of intelligence was likely even higher than they had imagined.

For a moment, Killian grew genuinely interested.

But he chose to keep watching in silence.

Samuel was the main figure here, and Killian respected his experiment.

Samuel, in turn, did not disappoint that trust. He noticed Subject No. 2's unusual behavior right away.

But at that very moment, Subject No. 1 and Subject No. 3 were fighting far too brutally.

Even the shockwaves alone were enough to scatter the papers across the desks.

In the end, the researchers had to weigh everything down with heavy objects just to keep it from blowing away again.

Meanwhile, inside the isolation chamber, the floor itself had cracked apart from the violence of the fight.

If the two subjects in the middle of it were ignored, the shattered ground almost looked like the site of some dark ritual, something that might convince a cultist an evil god was about to descend.

"Alright, that's enough. Calm them down."

Seeing the state of the chamber, Samuel spoke to the assistant beside him.

The assistant nodded, then immediately pressed the red button on the control console. In the next instant, rows of fresh machine gun barrels extended from the ceiling of the containment chamber.

Before the two subjects could react, every barrel erupted with blazing muzzle flashes. The whole scene looked like dragon heads spewing fire, tongues of flame bursting from each weapon as a storm of bullets poured down onto the test subjects.

Boom boom boom!!!

For a moment, the monstrous roars of the test subjects were completely drowned out by the thunder of gunfire. Blood sprayed outward in even more horrifying bursts.

The reek of gunpowder immediately filled the entire chamber.

Amid the deafening impacts, Subject No. 1 kept crashing against the walls or leaping up to smash the metal gun mounts, but it was all useless.

Each barrel had been fitted with extremely durable anti-impact materials on the outside. Even when one was smashed apart, only the broken machine itself fell away. In the very next second, a new machine gun emerged right where the previous one had been.

And so, after a full ten minutes of relentless bombardment, the assistant pressed the button again, and the roar of gunfire inside the containment chamber finally ceased.

This time, everyone looked toward the smoke-filled chamber with a trace of tension.

This was part of the experiment as well.

The purpose was to test the Tyrants' resistance to sustained fire and determine exactly how much punishment they could endure.

Tyrants had always been known as monsters that specialized in raw power, but anyone familiar with bio-weapons knew that their greatest strength was not merely brute force.

It was their terrifying regenerative ability, along with bodies durable enough to crush even an RPG launcher in their bare hands.

And this time, the researchers had prepared enlarged machine guns loaded with 12.7mm rounds.

A single one of those rounds was already a nightmare for most living things.

One hit could cripple almost anything.

And now, under full-power sustained fire from dozens, even hundreds, of heavy machine guns firing 12.7mm ammunition, even the earlier biological Tyrants might not have survived.

So as for whether Subject No. 1 and Subject No. 3 could endure an attack of this magnitude, everyone present carried serious doubts in their hearts.

Then, as the ventilation system inside the chamber powered on, the thick clouds of smoke were gradually drawn out.

Not long afterward, as the haze dispersed, the people in the room finally began to see clearly what was inside the containment chamber.
