Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Reborn in a Savage World

The smell of blood filled the air.

Lucas slowly opened his eyes.

Pain exploded through his entire body as if every bone had been crushed and put back together. His head throbbed violently, and strange memories flooded his mind.

Memories that didn't belong to him.

Lucas gasped and tried to sit up, but his body felt weak—too weak.

"This… isn't my room."

Above him was not a ceiling.

Instead, enormous trees stretched toward the sky like ancient pillars of a forgotten world. Their branches were so thick they blocked most of the sunlight.

The air was humid.

Wild.

And filled with the distant sounds of creatures roaring somewhere deep in the forest.

Lucas froze.

"What… is this place?"

Suddenly—

More memories crashed into his mind.

A primitive tribe.

Stone spears.

Hunting parties.

Cold nights around burning fires.

And death.

Lots of death.

Lucas grabbed his head as the memories continued pouring in.

The body he now occupied belonged to a young hunter named Kara.

One of the weakest members of the Stone Fang Tribe.

A tribe barely surviving in this brutal world.

Yesterday, Kara had joined a hunting group for the first time.

It was supposed to be simple.

Track a horned deer.

Bring food back to the tribe.

But instead…

They encountered something else.

A monster.

A gigantic beast with claws longer than spears and teeth capable of tearing through bone.

The hunters ran.

But Kara was too slow.

Too weak.

And the beast killed him instantly.

Lucas inhaled sharply.

"So I really died…"

The last thing he remembered from his previous life was collapsing at his desk after working almost twenty hours straight.

Then darkness.

And now…

This.

A primitive world.

A savage land where survival meant everything.

Lucas slowly pushed himself up from the ground.

His body trembled.

He looked down at his hands.

They were rough.

Covered in scars.

And far stronger-looking than his old body.

Before he could think further—

A cold mechanical voice suddenly echoed inside his mind.

[System Initialization Complete]

Lucas froze.

"What…?"

The voice continued.

[Primitive Evolution System Activated]

A translucent blue panel suddenly appeared before his eyes.

Host: Lucas

Level: 1

Strength: 3

Agility: 2

Vitality: 3

Abilities: None

Lucas stared at the floating screen.

"…A system?"

He had read enough web novels to understand what this meant.

Reincarnation.

And a cheat ability.

Before he could celebrate, another notification appeared.

[Main Mission Activated]

Mission: Survive the next 24 hours.

Reward: Strength +1

Failure: Death.

Lucas blinked.

"…Wait."

He looked around the forest again.

The sunlight was already fading behind the trees.

The sounds of distant monsters echoed through the jungle.

And he suddenly remembered something else from Kara's memories.

This forest was called The Red Fang Wilderness.

One of the most dangerous regions in the primitive world.

Even experienced hunters avoided traveling alone.

Lucas slowly stood up.

His legs shook slightly, but he managed to stay on his feet.

"So the first mission…"

"…is simply to survive."

He looked toward the endless forest stretching in every direction.

Then he noticed something on the ground.

A broken stone spear.

Probably Kara's weapon before he died.

Lucas picked it up.

The crude spear felt heavy in his hands.

But strangely…

Comfortable.

Almost natural.

Another notification appeared.

[Basic Weapon Acquired: Stone Spear]

Lucas laughed softly.

"So even weapons are recognized by the system…"

He looked deeper into the forest.

Somewhere in the darkness, something moved.

Branches snapped.

Heavy footsteps echoed through the trees.

Lucas's grip on the spear tightened.

His heart began beating faster.

This world was brutal.

There were no police.

No hospitals.

No second chances.

Only the strong survived.

And the weak…

died.

But Lucas's lips slowly curved into a grin.

"In my old world…"

"I was just another ordinary man."

He lifted the spear and stared into the forest.

"But in this savage world…"

His eyes hardened.

"I will become the strongest."

And somewhere deep in the wilderness—

Something roared.
