She felt her whole body pale. The warmth that had been coursing through her body slowly waned until she felt numb.
But he hardly seemed to notice the change in her. He was focused on something only he could see.
Was he seeing the other woman when he looked at her?
Perhaps she should let him use her to his satisfaction to satiate his desires for the other woman, she thought with a stiff sob.
But it was easier said than done. She sealed her eyes shut and waited. His hand in her dress ceased its advance.
Then she felt him stroke her hair, the side of her face, her lower lip…
Eve slowly opened her eyes. He was looking at her… as if she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.
She didn't realise she was crying until she felt the pad of his thumb wiping moisture around her eyes away.
But for some reason, she could not bring herself to look away from his eyes.
"Did I hurt you?"
